Not surprisingly, Patriots QB Tom Brady is a big fan of WR Julian Edelman.  "He had an incredible season," Brady said of Edelman on Monday morning. "No one could have ever predicted what he could accomplish for our team. I mean, he was one guy that was so consistent and dependable for us."  Edelman led New England in targets (151), catches (105), yards (1,056) and TDs (6) in the regular season and made another 16 grabs in 2 playoff games.  Brady's words are important since Edelman is set to hit the free-agent market this offseason.  Brady and the Pats would obviously love to have Edelman back in 2014, but we'll see how much money they're able to offer him after handing Danny Amendola a 5-year, $28.5 million deal last offseason.  A return to New England would be best for Edelman's fantasy value.

The forecast for tonight's Colts-Patriots game calls for 22 mph winds and a 100% chance of rain.  Look for a run-heavy attack from New England, with short passes when they take to the air.  The conditions aren't ideal for Indy's vertical passing attack.  Downgrade QB Andrew Luck and WR T.Y. Hilton.

Patriots WR Danny Amendola played just 32 of 69 offensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Ravens.  That trailed both Julian Edelman (68) and Aaron Dobson (54).  The 32 snaps and 46% snap rate were both season lows for Amendola.  He finished with just 2 catches on 3 targets for 45 yards.  That, of course, followed his big 10-131 line in Week 15.  New England's offense is always game-plan specific, so Amendola could return to a significant role in the season finale.  Or he could play sparingly again.  He'll be a risk/reward WR3 in Week 17.

The forecast for today's Patriots-Ravens game calls for a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms with winds at 10-12 mph.  That figures to make deep passing more difficult, which is bad news for WR Torrey Smith.  New England's short passing game should be fine.

NFL Network's Albert Breer confirms that Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion) has been cleared and will play against the Dolphins on Sunday.  Sitting out last week should have that pesky groin injury closer to 100%, too.  Amendola should be available for a full slate of snaps, making him a strong fantasy option.

Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion) said Friday that he's "ready to go" for this weekend's game against the Dolphins.  He practiced all week without a setback.  Amendola will likely end up questionable on the final injury report, but fantasy owners can pencil him into lineups.  We'll find out his official status by noon ET on Sunday.

ESPN's Ed Werder and NFL Network's Albert Breer are reporting that Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm) is now not expected to play against the Saints on Sunday.  Gronk was hoping to gain medical clearance this week, but it sounds like that didn't happen.  It's the forearm, rather than the back, that's keeping him sidelined.  Gronkowski will now aim toward Week 7's game against the Jets.  New England isn't off until Week 10. WRs Danny Amendola, Kenbrell Thompkins and Julian Edelman will be QB Tom Brady's top 3 targets against the Saints.

Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) is officially active for today’s game against the Bengals.  His snaps are expected to be limited in his 1^st game since Week 1, so Amendola is a risk/reward fantasy option.  We are hearing that he looked good in pregame warmups, though. 

The weather forecast for this afternoon's Patriots-Bengals game calls for 50% chance of rain and 14 mph winds.  It's been raining all morning, so the field will likely be sloppy.  It's not enough to downgrade either team's passing game, but we wonder how the field conditions will impact WR Danny Amendola's usage.  Amendola is a risk/reward fantasy option for Week 5.  Click here to see where he sits in our rankings.

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer confirms that Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) is expected to play today, but adds that the team is "planning to limit his reps."  That's not a surprise considering Amendola's injury history -- and the fact that this will be his 1st action since Week 1.  It's also worth noting that Amendola went for 10 catches and 104 yards despite playing just 62% of the snaps in the opener.  We'd expect him to play at least that much against the Bengals today.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the Patriots "hope and believe" WR Danny Amendola (groin) will play against the Bengals today.  That's been the general consensus throughout the week, although a final decision won't be made until after pregame warmups.  Check back around noon ET for Amendola's official status.  He'll be a risk/reward WR2 if active.
