Raiders RB Darren McFadden carried 21 times for 164 yards (7.8 yards per carry) and 1 TD "before leaving the game with turf toe in the fourth quarter" per the Chronicle. That would explain why Michael Bush was so busy in the 4th quarter.  McFadden completely eviscerated the Chiefs, who still haven't fixed the 28th ranked rush defense from 2007. His 164 yards was the 2nd-most rushing yards for a Raiders rookie -- behind Bo Jackson's 221 yards in 1987.  Hopefully the toe will calm down in a few days.

Darren McFadden struggled to run between the tackles vs. Arizona and didn't show the game-breaking ability he had previously.  He had 40 yards on 12, but dropped a swing pass, and gained only 7 yards on 2 catches.  Not his best day so far.

Don't look now, but Oakland may be shaping up as a 3-headed RBBC.  The top 3 on their depth chart -- McFadden, Justin Fargas and Michael Bush -- combined for 100 rushing yards against the Niners.  As a team, they rolled to 248 yards on the ground, led by undrafted rookie Louis Rankin's 91.  McFadden showed some speed, hit the hoels hard and ran with confidence in his 12 carries.  Fargas was successful running between the tackles.  And Michael Bush displayed the power and quick feet he had at Louisville, running for 27 yards -- including a 5-yard score.  No clear cut starter here, and all can seemingly contribute.  That's good news for Raiders fans, but bad news for fantasy owners.          

Rookie RB Darren McFadden got in a lot of work vs. the Titans on Friday night -- carrying 6 times for 44 yards and catching a 5-yard pass. He did most of his damage after stalwarts like Albert Haynesworth or Keith Bulluck left the game, but then again, Oakland's offense was shuffling in 2nd-stringers too.  McFadden doesn't look as skinny as he did at Arkansas (is it the white jersey?) and boy can he motor. On a 3rd down play deep in their own territory, McFadden took a toss sweep left and bolted around the edge for a 6-yard gain -- giving their punter room to breathe.  McFadden also picked up a weak-side blitz and bought JaMarcus Russell some more time on one pass. It's going to be hard for McFadden to hit even the 1,200 yard range with both Justin Fargas & Michael Bush in the mix -- but McFadden is their lead dog, the fat money guy, and he should easily justify his 4th round ADP this year. We raised his projections.
