As many expected, the Ravens have agreed to terms with former Titans RB Derrick Henry. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Henry will get a two-year, $16 million deal -- with a $20 million max value and $9 million guaranteed for 2024. That means Henry will take over the backfield for at least the coming season. Despite last offseason's OC switch and other investments in the passing game, Baltimore finished 2023 as the league's most run-heavy offense (50.3% of plays). QB Lamar Jackson skews that rate with his scrambling, but it's clearly a good situation for Henry. His Underdog Fantasy ADP sits at RB15 as of this writing, at the end of Round 5. If Henry stays in that range, he'll be smash pick for best ball. Check our best ball rankings to compare our outlook for Henry with the market's. J.K. Dobbins, meanwhile, just got easier to drop in dynasty formats -- in case you were on the fence. Keaton Mitchell? We'll have to watch his progress throughout the summer as he returns from a December ACL tear.

RB Gus Edwards' contract with the Ravens voided on Monday, setting him up to hit free agency next month. Edwards led Ravens RBs and set career highs last year with 198 carries, 810 yards, and 13 TDs. His 4.1 yards per carry was a career low, although Edwards still ranked a respectable 20th out of 49 qualifying RBs in NFL Next Gen Stats' Rush Yards Over Expected Per Attempt. Edwards turns 29 in April and offers next to nothing in the passing game. But he's still capable of helping as a between-the-tackles and short-yardage back. We'll see where he lands in free agency. The Ravens' RB depth chart, meanwhile, is topped by a couple of guys recovering from serious injuries in J.K. Dobbins and Keaton Mitchell. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported recently that Baltimore could target a RB "with pedigree" in free agency. Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Derrick Henry, Tony Pollard, and D'Andre Swift highlight the free-agent RB class.

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell tore his left ACL in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's win over the Jaguars. It looked like that kind of injury at the time, and HC John Harbaugh said after the game they expected Mitchell to miss the season. Multiple reports say the Ravens are optimistic for a full recovery. The timing, though, could challenge the start to Mitchell's second NFL season -- especially considering the importance of speed and explosiveness to his game. The rookie certainly remains worth stashing on dynasty rosters where possible. Mitchell won't be more than an end-of-draft flier (if that) for early 2024 best ball drafting, though. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill figure to split the backfield the rest of the way, including the playoffs. We'd also bet on Baltimore bringing RB Melvin Gordon back from the practice squad. He logged 13 carries and 3 targets across two games early this season, when the Ravens were dealing with multiple RB injuries (including Mitchell's first IR stint).

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said after Sunday night's win over the Jaguars that RB Keaton. Mitchell's left knee injury is expected to end the rookie's season. The team hasn't yet supplied details of the injury, but that's likely awaiting a Monday MRI. The rookie left the field with a lot of help, though, putting no weight on the joint and rode a cart to the locker room. We'll see what kind of return timeline Mitchell faces once the details become clear. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill worked near evenly after Mitchell left in the fourth quarter. Each had four carries before Edwards handled all three runs on Baltimore's final possession to run out the clock. Both will likely land in RB3 territory of our rankings for a Week 16 matchup with the 49ers. A Week 17 home date with the Dolphins looks a bit more RB-friendly.

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell injured his left knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's game vs. the Jaguars. He took a cart back to the locker room and was quickly ruled out. This has the looks of a significant injury, but we'll update Mitchell's status when we learn more. His absence leaves Baltimore's backfield to Gus Edwards and Justice Hill.

The forecast for today's Rams-Ravens game calls for a 97% chance of rain with winds of 10-15 mph and gusts up to 30. Expect lots of running from both offenses in this one. The over/under has dropped from 45.0 to 42.0 -- although the Ravens are still implied for a solid 24.75 points. See the updated projections for this game.

Sunday night saw an interesting shift occur in the Ravens’ backfield. Rookie RB Keaton Mitchell led the team with 64 rushing yards on 9 carries in Week 12 vs. the Chargers. Mitchell also roped in 2 catches for 25 yards as a pass-catcher. His teammate Gus Edwards wasn’t too far behind in the box score (8 carries, 26 yards), but the veteran appeared on 26.7% of Baltimore’s offensive snaps. By contrast, Mitchell saw a season-high 46.4% snap rate and played on 59.5% of the Ravens’ early downs. Has Mitchell become the Ravens’ RB1? It’s tough to say as of now, and they are set to go on bye in Week 13. Still, this’ll be a situation worth monitoring approaching the fantasy playoffs.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said Monday that he wishes RB Keaton Mitchell had gotten more touches in the Week 10 loss to the Browns -- and that it's something he'll look to correct in Thursday night's game vs. the Bengals. “Looking back on it, would we have wanted him out there more? Yeah. And think that'll factor into this game plan," Harbaugh said. Mitchell finished the Browns game with just three carries and two targets. One of the carries went for a 39-yard TD, and his only catch went for 32 yards. We'll see exactly how much Mitchell's role expands going forward. He remains an exciting stash but would be tough to trust in Week 11 fantasy lineups.

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell ran three times for 34 yards and caught 1 of 2 targets for 32 more yards in Sunday's loss to the Browns. The rookie scored on the ground for the second straight week, and both scores have come from 39+ yards out. That points to the home-run speed Mitchell brings to every touch. But we also can't bet on him scoring regularly from long distance. Don't let the two straight games with a TD mask the mere 10 and 4 touches Mitchell has logged. There' might be some sell potential here if you snagged Mitchell off waivers this week and see a RB-needy team in your league. Week 11 includes byes for Jonathan Taylor, Alvin Kamara, Rhamondre Stevenson and Bijan Robinson.

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Browns. He was added to the injury report on Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday, so we’re not expecting the hamstring to be a problem.

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Browns on Sunday, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Mitchell was added to the injury report on Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday. The hamstring shouldn't be an issue tomorrow. Mitchell's role remains uncertain, though, and the matchup is tough against Cleveland's fourth-ranked RB defense. See where the rookie sits in the Week 10 RB Rankings.

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Browns. He was added to the injury report on Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday. The rookie should play be available this weekend, but check back around 11:30 am ET on Sunday when we get Baltimore’s inactives.

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell was added to Thursday's injury report and limited in practice with a hamstring. That usually means the player was injured in practice. We'll see if Mitchell is able to get on the field tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Browns.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said Monday that he expects to keep RBs Gus Edwards, Justice Hill, and Keaton Mitchell involved going forward. “Those three backs are gonna be all playing a lot," Harbaugh said. "I’m sure there will be a rotation.” Harbaugh added that snaps will be determined by which RB has the hot hand and who's not tired, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley. Mitchell certainly earned a role going forward with his 138-yard, one-TD effort in the win over Seattle. Note that, before QB Lamar Jackson was pulled in the fourth quarter, Mitchell and Hill had both tallied eight opportunities (carries + targets) to Edwards' five. If this is truly a three-way split, it'll be tough to count on any of these guys as more than RB3 or flex plays. We'll keep a close eye on the backfield usage this weekend.

Ravens RB Justice Hill tallied a team-high 13 carries in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. He took those for just 40 yards (3.1 per rush), though, ranking fourth on the team in that category. Don't read too much into that workload, though. Hill, Gus Edwards, and rookie Keaton Mitchell all finished the first half with 4 carries. Edwards ran just one more time after the break before sitting out the rest of the game. Mitchell led Hill 9-8 in carries before Hill claimed the team's final 5 RB rushing attempts of the game. That came with QB Tyler Huntley in the game, after Baltimore pulled Lamar Jackson amid a lopsided victory. Hill also drew just a single target, which fell incomplete. It was Mitchell's first game of significant use. And we're guessing the Ravens took the opportunity to rest Edwards for the second half because of the toe issue that kept him out of Wednesday's practice. Hill will need to do more to become a fantasy option again. Mitchell looks more interesting for Week 10 waivers.
