The Bills are "optimistic" that RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will be able to play against the Dolphins today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. McCoy will go through pregame warmups before a final decision will be made, but we'll know by noon ET. McCoy will carry more risk than usual if active -- both of an in-game setback and a limited touch count. But he's been producing all season, and Miami isn't an imposing matchup.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Dolphins. He returned to a limited practice on Friday after injuring his hamstring on Wednesday and sitting out Thursday. "We're not ruling Shady out at all," HC Rex Ryan said after Friday's workout. " We'll be smart with him, but he looked pretty good [today]." McCoy's agent suggested that his client will be a game-time decision. We'll find out his official status by noon ET on Sunday. McCoy will carry more risk than usual if active but will still be worth getting into fantasy lineups. If he sits, RB Mike Gillislee will step in as Buffalo's lead back and a solid RB2 in fantasy lineups.

Agent Drew Rosenhaus believes his client, Bills RB LeSean McCoy, will be a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with the Dolphins. We should always take agent reports with a giant grain of salt, but we figured this was worth passing along. "They haven't ruled him out," Rosenhaus said. "I think on the official injury report today I'd be surprised if he wasn't listed as questionable. And he'll probably be one of those guys that tests it out pregame." We'll have another update on McCoy after Buffalo's Friday practice.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports that Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) won't play against the Dolphins on Sunday. It's seemingly been trending this way over the past 24 hours, although the team has yet to rule him out. We should get confirmation tomorrow. Anderson adds that McCoy "could miss more time" beyond Week 7. Buffalo's bye isn't until Week 10. Mike Gillislee will serve as the lead back for as long as McCoy is out and should be owned in fantasy leagues of 10+ teams.

Bills HC Rex Ryan didn't have an update on RB LeSean McCoy's hamstring injury on Thursday but did say he's "hopeful" his stud back will be able to play against Miami this weekend. "We'll see how he progresses the next couple days," said Ryan. "Hopefully we get him back." OC Anthony Lynn provided a more illuminating quote: "I don't want him playing 85 percent, getting reinjured and having it linger through the season." McCoy dealt with lingering hamstring trouble last year, which might influence Buffalo's decision on whether he plays this weekend. We'll have another update tomorrow.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy did not practice on Thursday. That's not a major surprise just 24 hours after he hurt his hamstring. But McCoy is certainly in danger of missing this weekend's game against the Dolphins. We'll know more after Buffalo's practice tomorrow. RB Mike Gillislee is expected to operate as the lead back if McCoy can't go.

A source tells insider Sal Capaccio that Bills RB LeSean McCoy has been diagnosed with a "mild to moderate" hamstring strain. That means as little to us as it does to you. Capaccio's report adds that the team is "hoping" to have McCoy for Sunday's game vs. Miami but that his "status will most likely remain uncertain for at least the next couple of days." We'll continue to keep a close eye on this situation, starting with Buffalo's practice tomorrow. McCoy owners need to try to secure backup RB Mike Gillislee.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy injured his hamstring during Wednesday's practice, HC Rex Ryan announced. McCoy will be evaluated to determine the severity. "We'll see how it goes," Ryan said. McCoy missed much of last summer and 2 games last season with hamstring trouble. If he can't play against the Dolphins this weekend, Mike Gillislee would serve as Buffalo's lead back. Averaging 6.8 yards on 17 carries so far this year, he'd be a solid Week 7 spot start.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy injured his right knee in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the 49ers. It looked serious, but he was able to walk off the field. We'll pass along an update when we get one. McCoy was ripping the 'Niners before exiting, taking 11 carries for 106 yards and 2 scores.

Update: McCoy has been cleared to return for the 2nd half.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hand) is active for today’s game against the Rams. There’s been nothing to suggest the hand that he injured on Friday will be an issue. Keep McCoy locked into fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hand) will play against the Rams today. He was added to Friday's injury report and listed as questionable, but the hand issue never seemed serious. Volume makes McCoy a RB1, even in a difficult matchup.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hand) is confident he'll play against the Rams this weekend. "l won't miss this game," he said on SportsCenter Friday. "I won't miss it for the world." He added that the hand injury he suffered in Friday's practice is "something minor." Go ahead and keep McCoy in fantasy lineups, but it'd still be wise to have a late-game replacement on hand.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy was added to Friday's injury report with a hand. He was listed as limited and questionable for this weekend's game against the Rams. The issue here is that the game doesn't kick off until 4:25 pm ET, so we might not know McCoy's status until 3 pm. We'll look for updates on Sunday morning, but McCoy owners should look to get a late-game replacement option. RB Mike Gillislee would start for Buffalo if McCoy can't.

The Bills have fired OC Greg Roman, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He's the scapegoat for Buffalo's 0-2 start -- even though it was the defense that cost them last night's game against the Jets. Roman is 1 of the league's run-heaviest play-callers, so the move could mean a slight increase in passing. But Rex Ryan is still the HC (for now), so it'll remain a run-leaning offense.

Reggie Bush is "considered the favorite" for the Bills' #2 RB job, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak. Bush was the 2nd RB into Saturday's preseason game, losing a yard on his 1 carry. RB Mike Gillislee later suffered a concussion. Buffalo's run-heavy offense figures to grant Bush a handful of carries per game, and we'll see how much passing-down work he steals from LeSean McCoy. But Bush is 31 now and has been ineffective the past 2 seasons. We're not very interested in him in fantasy drafts. Rookie Jonathan Williams could make a push for the #2 job later this year.

The Bills have released RB Karlos Williams. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the move was performance-based, rather than off-field. Williams reported to the team overweight this offseason and was behind LeSean McCoy, Mike Gillislee, Jonathan Williams and possibly Reggie Bush on the depth chart. It still seems like a short-sighted move by Buffalo, though. Williams wasn't costing much and flashed big-time ability as a rookie. It shouldn't take him long to find a new home. We'd hang on to Williams in dynasty leagues.

Bills RB Karlos Williams passed his physical and is expected to make his training camp debut on Monday, according to insider Joe Buscaglia. We'll see if he can right the ship after an ugly offseason. Williams still has the raw talent to re-emerge as Buffalo's #2 RB. For now, though, he's only worth drafting late in best-ball leagues. Mike Gillislee is the favorite to open the season as LeSean McCoy's backup.

The Bills and RB Reggie Bush are finalizing a 1-year contract, according to insider Jason La Canfora. Bush's 2015 season with the 49ers ended on November 1 with a torn MCL. He's 31 now and has averaged just 3.9 yards per carry and 6.2 yards per catch over the past 2 years. Bush is no more than a change-of-pace option at this point -- and it's unclear whether he'll be effective even in that role. He's no threat to RB LeSean McCoy's workload and will need to beat out Mike Gillislee and Jonathan Williams for the #2 RB job while Karlos Williams serves his 4-game suspension.

Turns out Bills RB Karlos Williams was doing more than stuffing his face this offseason. He's been suspended 4 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. With rookie RB Jonathan Williams also facing a potential ban for his recent DWI arrest, Buffalo could be down to LeSean McCoy, Mike Gillislee and James Wilder in the backfield for the first month. McCoy's stock gets a slight boost with the recent news. Karlos Williams is now tough to like as more than a late-round flier. There are obvious dedication issues here.

According to ESPN’s Mike Rodak, the Bills “plan to” limit RB LeSean McCoy in training camp. RB coach Anthony Lynn added that the Bills will likely have McCoy play just a “couple drives” during the preseason. After hamstring and knee issues limited McCoy to 12 games in 2015, the veteran has missed practice time this month with an ankle injury. McCoy’s in for a hefty workload, so the Bills are wise to manage his reps. Despite some decline risk, he looks fine as a back-end RB1.
