NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Washington is expected to sign WR Paul Richardson to a 5-year, $40 million deal, with $20 million guaranteed. Richardson played all 16 games for the 1st time last season, ranking 3rd among Seahawks in targets (80) and 4th in receptions (44). He's an intriguing talent who will turn just 26 in April, but Richardon's best asset is arguably his deep speed. That fits what Washington was reportedly looking for on the outside opposite WR Josh Doctson, but it doesn't match well with what new QB Alex Smith has been for most of his career. Combine that with the presence of Doctson, WR Jamison Crowder and TE Jordan Reed, and it's tough to like Richardson as more than a WR5 come fantasy football draft time. Smith did, at least, enjoy some deep-ball success in 2017. We'll see where Richardson settles in our 2018 projections in a few months.

Seahawks WR Paul Richardson (groin) is active for tonight's game against the Cardinals. He didn't practice on Tuesday or Wednesday, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier today that he could be limited. Richardson also figures to see a fair amount of CB Patrick Peterson. He's a shaky WR3.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Seahawks WR Paul Richardson (groin) is expected to play tonight but "could be limited some." Richardson was already a low-floor fantasy play, averaging just 4.9 targets per game on the season. Any reduction in snaps would only make him a riskier Week 10 fantasy start.

Seahawks WR Paul Richardson (groin) is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Cardinals. He wasn't listed on the injury report Monday but was sidelined on Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll find out Richardson's status by 7 pm ET tomorrow. He'll be a risky WR3 if active.

Seahawks WR Paul Richardson fractured the ring finger on his right hand on the 1st drive of Sunday's game against the 49ers. The bone punctured through the skin. Richardson got it stitched up in the locker room and returned shortly thereafter. He finished with 2 catches for 19 yards and the game-winning TD. Richardson played just 48% of Seattle's offensive snaps, which was likely due at least in part to the injury. Considering he returned to this game, Richardson figures to play against the Titans this weekend. But the finger will make him a risky fantasy bet.

The Jets have acquired WR Jermaine Kearse and a 2nd-round pick from the Seahawks in exchange for DT Sheldon Richardson. Kearse is coming off a brutal 2017 season and likely would have been cut if Seattle hadn't found a trade partner. He's, at best, a #3 NFL WR but could certainly carve out a significant role in New York's pathetic WR corps. Still, we wouldn't spend a fantasy pick on Kearse. His departure leaves Doug Baldwin, Paul Richardson, Tyler Lockett and Kasen Williams as the Seahawks' top 4 WRs.

Seahawks WR Paul Richardson was a limited participant in practice on Tuesday, just 2 days after spraining his shoulder in the preseason opener. “Paul jumped right back on the practice field today, really surprised us, because he did bang his shoulder pretty good,” HC Pete Carroll said. “He had a good day’s work; I don’t know what that means for [the 2nd preseason game this] weekend, but in no pads today, he was able to get in a lot of work and was at top speed, so that’s terrific.” Carroll also confirmed that Richardson should be ready in plenty of time for Week 1. He'd been running with the starters but will need to fend off Tyler Lockett for the #2 WR spot behind Doug Baldwin.

Seahawks WR Paul Richardson left in the 1st quarter of Sunday night's preseason opener after suffering a sprained A/C joint in his right shoulder, the Seattle Times reports. "It’s going to be a bit," HC Pete Carroll said after the game. "I don’t want to throw a number on it but he got hurt." Richardson has been working as a starter ahead of Jermaine Kearse. Seattle played against the Chargers without WRs Doug Baldwin (ankle), Tyler Lockett (fibula recovery) and Amara Darboh (sternum).

Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett will miss the rest of the season after breaking his leg/ankle in Saturday's loss to the Cardinals. It was a nasty-looking injury and will require surgery, HC Pete Carroll confirmed afterward. We should get a more concrete rehab timeline in the coming days. Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse and Paul Richardson will serve as Seattle's top 3 WRs the rest of the way.

Seahawks WR Paul Richardson (knee) will make his 2015 debut this weekend against the Cardinals.  His rookie season ended with a torn ACL in last year's playoffs.  He posted a 29-271-1 line during the regular season.  Richardson will give Seattle a downfield threat but won't see enough volume to be a fantasy option.

Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo reports that Seahawks WR Paul Richardson suffered a torn ACL in Saturday night's win over the Panthers.  It obviously knocks him out for the rest of the playoffs and also puts his availability for the start of the 2015 season in jeopardy.  Richardson tore the same ACL at Colorado back in 2012.

Seahawks WR Paul Richardson suffered a sprained knee in Saturday night's win over the Panthers.  HC Pete Carroll didn't have an update on the severity afterward.  Richardson heated up down the stretch, hauling in 13 balls for 142 yards and a score in the final 3 games of the regular season.  WR Ricardo Lockette saw a bump in usage when Richardson left last night's game.

Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game against the Rams.  Paul Richardson will step into the starting lineup alongside Doug Baldwin, putting the rookie on the WR3 flier radar.

Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse injured his hamstring in Sunday night's win over the Cardinals.  On Monday, HC Pete Carroll didn't "sound optimistic" about Kearse's odds of being ready for Week 17, per insider John Boyle.  Kearse has been operating as Seattle's #2 WR, playing about 80% of the offensive snaps.  WR Paul Richardson stepped into that role when Kearse left last night, finishing with 5 catches for 52 yards.  He'll be on the WR3 flier radar against the Rams this weekend.

Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin missed Wednesday's practice with a groin injury.  It's the 1st we've heard of the ailment, but HC Pete Carroll said he's "unsure" of Baldwin's Week 10 status.  We'll have another update after Thursday's practice.  Jermaine Kearse and Paul Richardson would be Seattle's top 2 WRs if Baldwin can't play against the Giants.

Seahawks rookie WR Paul Richardson was recently asked about his role this season.  "My role is to come in and just do what I can on special teams," he responded. "I'm going to be a punt returner, so I look forward to doing that and making an impact and changing the game when I can from punt return."  That should put a fork in any hopes of Richardson emerging as a fantasy factor this season.  He figures to serve as Seattle's #5 WR behind Percy Harvin, Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice and Jermaine Kearse.

The Seahawks added WR Paul Richardson with the 45th pick of the draft.  Seems like a reach to us.  Richardson ran a 4.4 flat at the Combine and averaged 16.2 yards per catch last year.  But he's a frail 6'0, 175-pounder with inconsistent hands.  We're not convinced he'll develop into more than a situational deep threat.  He'll be Seattle's 4th or 5th WR in 2014.
