Rodney McLeod Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

The Eagles announced Monday that they have activated S Rodney McLeod from the PUP list. He had been on it since the start of camp while working back from a 2020 ACL tear. His activation ahead of the team setting the 53-man roster points to McLeod being ready early in the season -- perhaps in time for the opener. Philly would have had to keep him on the PUP list if the team wanted to have him open the season on it.

Eagles S Rodney McLeod left Sunday's game against the Colts with a knee injury. The team deemed his return questionable.

The Eagles have ruled DT Fletcher Cox (calf) out for Sunday's game against the Chargers. MLB Jordan Hicks (ankle) and S Rodney McLeod (hamstring) are both questionable but put in full practices all week. Both seem on track to play in an upside scoring matchup for IDP owners.

Eagles S Rodney McLeod (hamstring) is inactive for today's game against the Giants. That's not a big blow to IDP lineups or a Philly defense with a tremendous matchup against a struggling Eli Manning.

Eagles S Rodney McLeod is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants with a hamstring injury. He put in a limited workout Friday after missing the week's 1st 2 practices. Even if McLeod is active for the game, the hamstring issue makes him risky for IDP lineups.

Eagles S Rodney McLeod suffered a hamstring in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game at Kansas City. He is questionable to return.

The Eagles have reached a deal with former Rams S Rodney McLeod, according to USA Today's Tom Pelissero. The contract will reportedly be for $37 million over 5 years, with $17 million guaranteed. The 25-year-old started every game over the past 3 seasons in St. Louis -- after working as a reserve in his rookie year. In Philly, he'll replace yet another Chip Kelly import in S Walter Thurmond. McLeod and S Malcolm Jenkins give the Eagles a potentially strong duo at the back of a defense that still needs to address CB this offseason.

The Rams on Tuesday placed the franchise tag on CB Trumaine Johnson. Despite the fact that Johnson snagged 7 INTs last year to give him 15 through his 4 seasons to date, it's a surprising move. CB Janoris Jenkins is also headed for unrestricted free agency, as is safety-turned-LB Mark Barron. GM Les Snead said he hopes to retain all 3 plus S Rodney McLeod, according to The Associated Press.

The Bucs traded S Mark Barron to the Rams on Tuesday for 4th- and 6th-round picks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's a somewhat odd move for a Rams team that already seemed stronger at safety than many other spots. Our guess is that DC Gregg Williams (and maybe HC Jeff Fisher, a former DC) bought into the talent of Barron -- a former #7 overall pick -- after finding him available, as opposed to hitting the market in search of a safety. We'll see whether Barron takes over for T.J. McDonald or Rodney McLeod, but his skill set would seem to fit McDonald's role more. The SS has ranked 3rd among safeties so far in percentage of run snaps spent "in the box." Don't expect Barron to start right away. We'll see how quickly the Rams can work him in. Tampa, meanwhile, has Bradley MacDougald and Major Wright as options to step in at safety.

The Rams have named FS Rodney McLeod the starter over 4th-year veteran Darian Stewart.  The latter was expected to keep the job but struggled with injuries this preseason, as he has in past years.  McLeod didn't wow anyone but apparently did enough to claim the spot even if Stewart gets back to full health.  We wouldn't recommend drafting either for your IDP fantasy football squad.  The shakiness of that spot could give a slight boost to the tackle upside on rookie SS T.J. McDonald.
