Spencer Ware Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday night’s game against the Seahawks. He was limited in practice all week but evidently isn’t ready yet. That again leaves Kansas City’s backfield to Damien Williams and Darrell Williams. Last week, Damien played 73% of the offensive snaps and handled 10 carries and 6 targets. Darrell played 25%, carried twice and saw 2 targets. Expect a similar split on Sunday night.

The Chiefs list RB Spencer Ware (shoulder, hamstring) as doubtful for Thursday night's game against the Chargers after he missed practice all week. Ware was able to play through the injuries last week, but it doesn't look like he'll be able to tomorrow. His absence would leave Damien Williams as Kansas City's lead back. Charcandrick West and Darrell Williams also figure to mix in, but Damien projects for 12-15 touches. That makes him a RB2 option.

Chiefs RB Spencer Ware suffered a right knee injury in the 1st quarter of Friday night's game against the Chiefs. He left the field on a cart and the team quickly ruled him out for the game. That obviously doesn't bode well. Any missed time would deliver a huge boost to RB Kareem Hunt's fantasy outlook. Hunt was already sharing 1st-team work with Ware in the 3rd preseason contest. We'll keep an eye out for further updates.

Chiefs OC Doug Pederson says RB Spencer Ware will maintain a backfield role Sunday against the Bills even if RB Charcandrick West (hamstring) is ready to play. “I think our mentality is still the running back by committee,’’ Pederson told ESPN.com, specifically praising Ware's balance, vision and power. That could make him a nice complement to the smaller, speedier West, whose touches the Chiefs might want to limit coming off a hamstring injury. The situation adds risk to West as a fantasy option for Week 12, but he's still the 1st Chiefs back we'd use if he's active. Ware will be tough to trust as a fantasy starter if West is in the lineup but should at least still be an option for deeper leagues or those in rough shape at RB.
