Amon-Ra St. Brown Out Again Tuesday

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) remained sidelined for Tuesday's practice. He said afterward that he's still uncertain whether he'll be able to play vs. the Cowboys on Thursday night. “I’m not sure right now, if I’m being honest," St. Brown said. "It’s still up in the air. I’ma try to be out there for the guys, for my teammates, but I couldn’t answer that question right now.” We'll see how St. Brown is listed on tomorrow's final injury report, but fantasy owners should not be counting on him playing vs. Dallas. WR Kalif Raymond (ankle) is also expected to miss Week 14, HC Dan Campbell said. That'll leave Jameson Williams, Isaac TeSlaa, and Tom Kennedy as Detroit's top three WRs, if St. Brown is out.

Sam LaPorta Expected To Miss Rest Of Season After Back Surgery

Lions HC Dan Campbell said Friday that TE Sam LaPorta had back surgery and that his chances of returning this season are "very, very slim." We'll look for more details on LaPorta's injury and whether it'll impact his 2026, but he can be dropped from all redraft rosters.

Sam LaPorta Out At Least Four Games

The Lions placed TE Sam LaPorta on IR with his back injury. He's out through at least through Week 14, and it's unclear if he'll be ready to return when first eligible in Week 15. We still don't have any details on this back injury. LaPorta is worth trying to hang on to in fantasy leagues, but he's not a must-hold if you need the roster space. TE Brock Wright is next up on Detroit's depth chart but owns just 65 catches in 67 career games. TE Ross Dwelley -- 45 catches in 108 games -- is also on the active roster. TEs Anthony Firkser and Zach Horton are on the practice squad. We wouldn't bother with any of these guys in fantasy right now. Expect most of LaPorta's targets to be spread to WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams and RBs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.

Sam LaPorta Out For Week 11

Lions TE Sam LaPorta (back) is out for Sunday night’s game vs. the Eagles. We don’t have any details on his injury, but LaPorta didn’t practice all week and could miss further time. TE Brock Wright is the next man up for Detroit but will not have anywhere near as big a role in the passing game as LaPorta. Expect more targets to be pushed to WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams and RB Jahmyr Gibbs.

Update: Wright (ankle) is listed as questionable after getting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Avoid Lions TEs in Week 11 fantasy lineups.

Josh Reynolds questionable for Week 15

Lions WR Josh Reynolds (back) is questionable for Saturday night’s game vs. the Broncos. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again in Friday’s practice. Reynolds’ absence could mean a snap boost for WR Jameson Williams, but Williams would still only be in play in DFS tournaments.

Amon-Ra St. Brown doubtful for Week 5

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. He didn't practice all week and obviously needs to be on fantasy benches. His absence would leave Detroit's WR corps to Josh Reynolds, Jameson Williams, Kalif Raymond, and Marvin Jones. Reynolds (groin) and Williams (not injury related) are listed as questionable for Week 5 but should play after getting in full practices on Friday. St. Brown's absence figures to mean an even more run-heavy game plan for Detroit -- and potentially a target boost for TE Sam LaPorta.

        Jameson Williams gets suspension reduced

The NFL announced new guidelines on gambling rules Friday, and one of those changes will return Lions WR Jameson Williams to the field earlier. The league reduced the suspension to two games for a first-time offender betting on non-NFL events while in the workplace. Williams had been suspended six games for that offense. Instead, he'll now be reinstated after missing four. That will make Williams eligible to play in Week 5. We'll see about his initial role. Williams barely played as a rookie, coming off a January ACL tear. He continued to deal with injury and shaky performance this year in training camp and preseason. But the former first-round pick brings the speed to turn any touch into a big play. Williams is worth stashing in most fantasy formats, and we'll watch for word on Detroit's plan for him.

        Jameson Williams leaves practice

Lions WR Jameson Williams exited practice on Wednesday with an apparent right hamstring injury. Williams walked to the locker room with team trainers, and we’ll pass along an update when we learn more.

        Jameson Williams back at practice

Lions WR Jameson Williams got back on the practice field on Sunday after going down with a leg injury on Monday. It was a "jog through" practice, per HC Dan Campbell, so Williams might not be full speed quite yet. We'll see if the second-year WR can string together a few healthy weeks leading up to the start of the regular season. He's suspended for the first six games for violating the league's gambling policy.

Jameson Williams sidelined with leg injury

Lions WR Jameson Williams suffered a leg injury on Monday and is expected to miss the next couple of days, HC Dan Campbell said. This obviously doesn't sound like a serious issue, but Williams could use all the reps he can get after playing just 78 snaps in his 2022 rookie campaign. He, of course, is suspended for the first six games of this season for violating the league's gambling policy. We'll let you know when Williams gets back on the practice field.

        Williams running, changing direction

Lions WR Jameson Williams (knee) posted video of himself running and changing direction at about three-quarters speed on Sunday. The rookie has already been placed on the Reserve Non-Football Injury list, which knocks him out for at least the first 4 games of the season. He doesn't seem particularly close to being full-go, so we're not expecting to see him even when first eligible in Week 5. But at least he's making tangible progress. Williams is just a bench stash in dynasty leagues and deep redraft leagues.

        Williams to reserve NFI

The Lions have moved WR Jameson Williams (knee) to the Reserve Non-Football-Injury list. That knocks the rookie out for at least the first 4 games of the season -- but it'll likely be longer than that before he makes his NFL debut. "The hope is he’ll be ready to play around midseason," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero tweeted. We currently project Williams to play 11 games this season.

        Williams to NFI list

Lions WR Jameson Williams (knee) has been placed on the non-football injury list. He gets that designation, rather than PUP, because his injury happened before he was drafted. Recovering from a January ACL tear, Williams isn't expected to be ready for Week 1 and probably won't be a real factor before the 2nd half of the season.
