Bucs RB Ronald Jones (quad, finger) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We'll see what he does on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Saints.
Bucs HC Bruce Arians was non-committal on Monday when asked about RB Ronald Jones' status for Sunday's Divisional Round game vs. the Saints. Jones ended up missing last weekend's game in Washington after he didn't feel like he could "open up" in warmups, according to Arians. Jones was on last week's injury report with the quad but was a full participant in all 3 practices. We'll monitor his participation this week. With Jones out last week, Leonard Fournette handled 19 of 24 RB carries and 4 of 5 RB targets.
Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones sustained a quad injury in pregame warm-ups before the Saturday night game against Washington, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Jones is questionable to return to the game. Leonard Fournette and Ke'Shawn Vaughn each saw early snaps in Jones' absence.
Bucs RB Ronald Jones (finger) practiced all week and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He should return as Tampa’s lead back for Sunday’s game vs. Atlanta.
Bucs RB Ronald Jones will have surgery on Tuesday to have a pin placed in his broken pinky finger, the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud reports. Stroud notes that this is similar to the injury Chris Godwin had earlier this season. Godwin ended up missing 1 game. Jones hasn't yet been ruled out for this weekend's game vs. the Falcons, but fantasy owners should at least make plans to be without him. Jones' absence would leave Tampa with RBs Leonard Fournette, LeSean McCoy and Ke'Shawn Vaughn. Despite being a healthy scratch last week, Fournette is the best candidate to take over as lead back if Jones sits.
Bucs RB Ronald Jones injured a pinky in Sunday's win over the Vikings. HC Bruce Arians said Monday that it might be fractured. It sounds like Jones is still undergoing tests, so we'll look for an update on the injury and whether it'll cost him time. We're guessing Jones' absence would put RB Leonard Fournette in the lead role -- although it's less clear after Fournette was a healthy scratch yesterday.
Bucs RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. HC Bruce Arians said Friday that Fournette will "reassume his role” in this weekend’s game against the Raiders. We’ll see exactly what that means. Fournette would be a flier in Week 7 fantasy lineups. His return does add some risk to RB Ronald Jones’ profile.
ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Bucs RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) will be "active but limited" against the Packers today. "It is not expected to be a regular workload for Fournette, who is improved from his ankle injury, but still not 100 percent," Schefter adds. Fournette obviously isn't a fantasy option with that expectation. Ronald Jones is a good bet for 15+ touches today.
The Buccaneers have ruled RB Leonard Fournette out for Sunday's game against the Chargers because of the ankle injury that has kept him out of practice all week. That should leave Ronald Jones as the clear lead back for a game that finds Tampa favored by 7.5 at home. LeSean McCoy also figures to see more snaps. With just 1 carry and 8 receptions through 3 games, though, he's not much of a fantasy football option.
Bucs RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) missed Wednesdays practice. It's the 1st we've heard of the injury, so it's possible that this is more of a rest day. We'll get another update tomorrow. Fournette's absence would make RB Ronald Jones a much stronger fantasy play vs. the Chargers this weekend.
Bucs RB Ronald Jones injured his left foot in Friday's scrimmage. HC Bruce Arians said afterward that he doesn't think it's serious but added, "we'll have to see." Stay tuned for updates. We're not moving Jones in the RB rankings right now, but he does come with elevated risk until we know more about this injury.
Bucs RB Ronald Jones was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Bengals with a hamstring injury. The rookie carried twice for -3 yards and caught his lone target for 4 yards before exiting. We'll look for an update on his status, but Jones isn't worth rostering in redraft leagues.
Bucs RB Peyton Barber missed Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. He appeared to tweak an ankle in the 2nd half of last week's game against the Browns, and his status for this Sunday's game is uncertain. Barber's absence would leave rookie Ronald Jones as Tampa's lead ball-carrier.
The Bucs have placed RB Charles Sims on IR with the knee injury he suffered in last weekend's preseason game. He was in line for a pass-catching role in Tampa's backfield. That work now figures to go to RB Jacquizz Rodgers, but it's unlikely to be enough to make him a fantasy factor. Sims' injury certainly doesn't hurt the outlooks for RBs Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones.
