Commanders Add Treylon Burks To Banged-Up WR Corps

The Commanders are signing WR Treylon Burks to their practice squad "with an elevation likely coming quickly," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Burks broke his collarbone early in Titans training camp and was released a couple of days later. The 2022 first-round pick has had trouble staying on the field and hasn't been very productive when he has. Burks has totaled just 53 NFL catches, with over half of those coming in his rookie season. We're not optimistic about his chances of being a fantasy factor this year, although he at least lands in a strong offense that's dealing with multiple WR injuries. We'll keep an eye on Burks, but he's not worth adding to redraft rosters right now.

Injury Hits WR Treylon Burks Again

Titans WR Treylon Burks fractured his collarbone during practice today. The former first-round pick in 2022 has disappointed so far in his NFL career, and this won't help. Though the injury won't end Burks' season, it does mean he will likely miss multiple weeks to start the season and may be a candidate for the PUP list. The Titans have signed WR Ramel Keyton as a replacement.

        Treylon Burks Had ACL Surgery

Titans WR Treylon Burks had surgery on his ACL, HC Brian Callahan revealed Wednesday. Callahan added that Burks' ACL was "loose" but not torn. We'll see exactly what that means for Burks' recovery timeline, but we'd expect him to miss at least part of the offseason. And his availability for the start of the 2025 campaign could be in question. Burks was in the midst of another disappointing season prior to the knee injury, totaling four catches in five games. 2025 is the final year of his rookie contract. There's not much dynasty value left here.

Treylon Burks Out For Week 7

Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bills. HC Brian Callahan said that Burks might wind up on IR with a knee injury that he apparently suffered in Wednesday’s practice. Burks has totaled eight targets in five games this season, so there’s very little fantasy impact here.

DeAndre Hopkins Expected to Miss 4-6 Weeks with Knee Strain

DeAndre Hopkins strained a knee in practice and "indications are he could miss four to six weeks," according to Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky. He said it wasn't immediately clear when the injury occurred. ESPN's Turron Davenport shared a video of Hopkins going through individual drills with his left knee wrapped Wednesday afternoon.

        Treylon Burks out Wednesday

Titans WR Treylon Burks (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. He's a long shot to play vs. the Bucs this weekend and might miss time beyond that considering how serious his injury looked. Burks is droppable in most redraft fantasy leagues.

        Treylon Burks in concussion protocol

Titans WR Treylon Burks is in concussion protocol, HC Mike Vrabel said Friday. Vrabel added that Burks will be at the team's facility on Friday. It sounds like he avoided any significant injury beyond the concussion -- excellent news after he was taken off the field on a stretcher on Thursday night. We'll keep an eye on Burks' recovery, but he remains off the redraft radar for now.

Treylon Burks will play Week 8

Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. Burks is not a recommended Week 8 fantasy play with QB Will Levis expected to make his first career start.

Treylon Burks OUT for Week 6

On Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that Titans WR Treylon Burks will not travel with the team to London and has been ruled out for Week 6 vs. the Ravens. He's been dealing with a left knee injury for several weeks and will miss his third consecutive game. This news doesn't change our projections, as we'd anticipated Burks would eventually be ruled out, but it gives WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine some appeal in extremely deep leagues. Managers in 10 or 12-team leagues, however, can operate as usual. This isn't a huge needle-mover.

        Treylon Burks still out Wednesday

Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Mike Vrabel said last week that Burks isn't dealing with a long-term injury, but he certainly seems to be in danger of missing Sunday's game vs. the Colts.

Treylon Burks out for Week 4

Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. It looks like he injured his knee in Wednesday's practice, but we don't have any other details. Burks' absence leaves Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as Tennessee's No. 2 WR and boosts WR DeAndre Hopkins' target projection.

Update: HC Mike Vrabel said after Friday's practice that Burks is only expected to be sidelined about a week. This knee injury isn't related to the LCL sprain he suffered in mid-August.

        Treylon Burks sidelined Thursday

Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) did not practice on Thursday. That followed a limited practice on Wednesday. Burks either hurt that knee in Wednesday's practice or just got today off. We should know more about his status when we get Tennessee's final injury report tomorrow.

Treylon Burks leads WR playing time

Titans WR Treylon Burks drew an uneventful 3 targets in Sunday's loss to the Saints, trailing WR DeAndre Hopkins, WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and RB Tyjae Spears. But Burks played more offensive snaps than any skill-position player besides QB Ryan Tannehill. His 57 snaps led Hopkins by 8. Burks also ran one more route than Hopkins, despite recently returning from a knee injury. Burks will obviously need to turn the playing-time edge into more targets before we can put him in fantasy lineups. But these numbers make Burks' opener look better than his receiving stats do.

        Burks impressing at Titans camp

Per ESPN's Turron Davenport, Titans WR Treylon Burks is "playing at a different speed from his rookie season" in OTAs and minicamps this offseason. Davenport also notes that Titans QB Ryan Tannehill is highly comfortable throwing to the 2022 first-round pick "whether he is wide open or in tight coverage," which is certainly exciting to hear for fantasy managers. Burks' rookie season was marred by injury (turf toe in Week 4, concussion in Week 12, six total missed games), though he closed 2022 on a high note. Burks drew 6+ targets in five of his final six healthy games, catching 4+ balls in four of those five games while averaging 13.7 yards per catch over that entire span. Assuming better health, he could be a sneaky PPR value pick in drafts this year. We feel very good about Burks' chances to lead the Titans' offense in targets and be a high-volume receiver without a lot of other talent around him. See where Burks comes out in our current WR rankings.

        Burks active

Titans WR Treylon Burks (groin) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was added to the injury report on Wednesday and then didn’t practice on Thursday, so it’s tough to believe he’s at 100% for this one. Burks isn't a recommended play outside of Saturday and 1-game DFS contests.

Burks DNP on Thursday, questionable vs. Jaguars

Titans WR Treylon Burks (groin) did not practice on Thursday and carries a questionable injury designation ahead of Week 18 vs. the Jaguars. With QB Joshua Dobbs under center last week, the rookie wideout tallied 4 receptions on 8 targets for 66 yards. Not bad production, all things considered. The Jaguars' defense also ranks as the 10th-best matchup for WRs in adjusted fantasy points allowed this season. That said, it's tough to trust Burks too much in a matchup where the Titans are likely to lean heavily on RB Derrick Henry. Burks is a WR4/deep league flex consideration in Week 18.

Tannehill "very likely" done for the season

Titans insider Paul Kuharsky hears that QB Ryan Tannehill is "very likely" done for the season with an ankle injury that may require surgery. Tannehill has hurt this right ankle twice this season -- but was surprisingly allowed to re-enter last week's loss to the Chargers. His absence leaves QB Malik Willis at the controls the rest of the way. The rookie made 2 starts the first time Tannehill went down, TOTALING 135 passing yards on 26 attempts. Tennessee will go as run-heavy as possible with Willis, tanking the fantasy value of pass catchers like TE Chig Okonkwo and WR Treylon Burks.
