Giants WR Darius Slayton led the team in targets (7), receptions (6) and receiving yards (79) in Sunday's win over the Packers. No other Giant caught more than 3 passes or topped 36 yards. Saquon Barkley was the only other player with more than 3 targets, catching 3 of 6 for 36 yards. WR Marcus Johnson caught all 3 of his targets for 35 yards after being elevated from the practice squad. He also led the crew in total snaps and routes run. Richie James and David Sills V supplied just 2 catches apiece, ranking 3rd and 4th -- respectively -- in snaps.
Giants WR Darius Slayton (neck) is active for today’s game vs. the Patriots. He was listed as doubtful, but his neck injury improved over the last 24 hours, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Slayton is coming off a 4-82-1 line vs. the Commanders but isn’t a great fantasy bet today in a much tougher matchup against New England.
Giants WR Darius Slayton (neck) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots. He leads Giants WRs in pass routes and targets this season. Slayton’s absence figures to mean more playing time for WRs Jalin Hyatt and Isaiah Hodgins outside the numbers, but neither is a recommended Week 12 fantasy play.
Giants WR Darius Slayton displayed a strong rapport with QB Tyrod Taylor vs. the Bills, racking up a team-leading 69 receiving yards with 4 catches on 6 targets. Fellow wideout Wan’Dale Robinson also turned in a strong performance with 8 catches on as many targets for 62 receiving yards in the contest. Since returning from injury in Week 3, Robinson ranks second on the Giants in targets (20) and leads the team with 18 receptions. These opportunities hadn’t manifested many fantasy points until Sunday, but Robinson is a name to consider adding as a flex option in deeper 14 or 16-team league formats moving forward. Next week, the Giants will face off against the Commanders in an NFC East divisional bout.
After attending 11 training camp practices, Bobby Skinner of Talkin' Giants writes, "I don’t know how you could make an argument for any WR but Darius Slayton leading the room in receiving." Slayton is coming off a WR49 finish in half-PPR points per game and got a two-year, $12 million deal from the Giants this offseason. For some reason, he's the fifth Giants WR in ADP, going 86th among all WRs. He sits much, much higher in our 2023 WR rankings.
WR Darius Slayton re-signed with the Giants on a 2-year, $12 million deal. Slayton has been pretty consistent through 4 NFL seasons, finishing with 46-50 catches and 724-751 receiving yards in 3 of them. That, of course, isn't enough to really get the fantasy juices flowing. Slayton is still just 26 and a candidate to take a step forward in his 2nd season under HC Brian Daboll. But don't consider him more than a WR4 in early best-ball drafts. The Giants' WR corps now reads: Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins, Wan'Dale Robinson, Parris Campbell, Sterling Shepard.
