Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel wouldn't say Monday where QB Tua Tagovailoa is in the concussion protocol but did say that he's seen Tagovailoa "sweating" in workouts. That suggests that Tua is at least in Stage 2 of the 5-stage protocol, giving him a chance to be cleared for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Bills. McDaniel said Monday that he'll have game plans for all 3 potential starting QBs, with both Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater (finger) iffy. We'll get Miami's first practice report of the week on Wednesday.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa posted 325 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT in Sunday's win over Vegas. Tua wasn't particularly sharp in this one, with one fumble and a couple of clear misfires. Still, he hit 300 yards for the fifth time this season. Other than a Week 13 matchup at Washington, Tua’s rest-of-season schedule continues to look challenging. So he’s a viable sell-high if you can find a manager desperate for QB help.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa tallied only 193 yards and 1 TD in a Week 9 loss to Kansas City. Miami fell behind 21-0 at halftime, but Tua still finished with a moderate 34 passes. His lone score went to Cedric Wilson on a nice deep pass. Late in the fourth quarter, though, Tua underthrew Wilson on what should have been a game-tying TD. “It was a miscommunication with Cedrick Wilson,” Tagovailoa said in the postgame presser. “In big time moments those things can’t happen.” Tagovailoa will look to rebound against Vegas after a Week 10 bye.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa went off for 324 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT in Sunday's win over New England. Tua wasn’t perfect in this one, as he threw at least one pass that should have been picked off. He also lost a fumble. Still, when you’re firing 56% of your targets at Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, good things are bound to happen. Sure enough, that duo alone combined for 15 catches, 233 yards, and 2 TDs. Tua’s remaining score went to Cedric Wilson at the goal line. Keep the young QB in lineups for a potential Week 9 shootout vs. Kansas City.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa completed 23 of 32 passes for 216 passing yards with 1 TD and INT apiece in Week 7’s loss vs. the Eagles. His 10.3 fantasy points (4-point per passing TD format) are the lowest of 2023 so far. Of course, part of these struggles can be attributed to the fact that WR Jaylen Waddle was sidelined for a decent portion of the contest with a back injury, but the strength of Philadelphia’s defense deserves credit here. Week 8’s divisional showdown vs. the Patriots should yield better results for Tagovailoa.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa was surgical in Week 3, completing 23 of 26 passes for 309 yards and 4 TDs. The Broncos missed a couple of key defenders, but they were simply dominated in this one. And that was with Tua missing Jaylen Waddle (concussion). His scores went to Tyreek Hill, Raheem Mostert, and Devon Achane. A top-3 fantasy QB on the year, Tua travels to Buffalo for Week 4.
