Jaelan Phillips out vs. Bills

The Dolphins have ruled Edge Jaelan Phillips (oblique) out for Sunday's game against the Bills. His absence will mean more playing time for Edge Andrew Van Ginkel. When Philips missed Week 2, Van Ginkel played 88% of snaps and delivered 6 tackles, 1 sack, 3 QB hits, and 1 pass deflection. He has climbed into DL2 territory in our Week 4 DL rankings. Edge Emmanuel Ogbah also figures to get more playing time. He has yet to play more than 23 snaps in a game this season, though, and doesn't deserve consideration in most IDP leagues.

Miami quickly reported it as an Achilles' injury. This looks likely to end Phillips' season and could challenge his start to 2024. We'll watch for more on the 24-year-old, who has one more year on his rookie contract and then the fifth-year option available for 2025. Andrew Van Ginkel filled in for Phillips when he missed time earlier this season and would likely step into a starting role for the rest of this year. He'll be worth a pickup in plenty of IDP leagues ahead of Week 13.
