Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd exited Saturday's preseason game with a hamstring injury. It is considered "not serious" and he should be ready for the season, according to insider Jordan Schultz.

        What They're Saying

Jordan Schultz: "Sources: Packers rookie RB MarShawn Lloyd suffered a hamstring injury on Saturday afternoon that is not viewed as serious and he should be fine for the season. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, so the team will be cautious with him."

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Lloyd's exit from the Packers' preseason game was worrisome for fantasy owners who were hoping the rookie could win the back-up job for Green Bay and have an impact.

AJ Dillon has gotten some recent buzz and Lloyd is competing to earn carries behind starter Josh Jacobs.

With Jacobs' large workload and HC Matt LeFleu's penchant for using multiple backs, the door was open for Lloyd to get work and have immediate value on the Packers team.

Missing time could set Lloyd back in the competition, but not being a long term injury is positive. A hamstring injury is tricky and can linger, so keep an eye on his status.

Lloyd dealt with thigh and knee injuries in college, but this is his first documented hamstring injury.
