It wasn't Jameson Williams' biggest statistical game, but his performance in Thursday night's win over the Cowboys was one of his best as a pro. Williams' evolution from big-play merchant to well-rounded WR was on display throughout the night. He ran impressive routes, such as a deep comeback for a first down on a 2nd-and-17 in the second quarter. And he made multiple tough grabs in traffic. Williams finished with a team-high 96 yards on seven catches and nine targets. He also took an end-around that nearly went for an 8-yard TD, but Williams just barely stepped out of bounds at the 1.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Here are Williams' receiving lines in five games since HC Dan Campbell took over play-calling duties:
- 6-119-1
- 4-77-1
- 0-0-0
- 7-144-1
- 7-96-0
Even with the goose egg (which we still can't explain considering the prime matchup vs. the Giants), Williams is averaging 17.3 PPR over those five games. That's WR1-level production.
Just as importantly, he's averaged 7.2 targets per game on a 20.6% share. And those targets have come at an average of 9.7 yards downfield -- way down from his absurd 15.0-yard aDOT over the first nine weeks.
Williams' next three games feature a neutral matchup vs. the Rams (19th vs. WRs), a plus draw against the Steelers (28th), and a negative matchup vs. the Vikings (2nd). But all three of those games will be played indoors, so expect plenty of points from the Lions and fantasy points for Williams.
