Bengals QB Joe Burrow had one of the worst games of his career going 25/39 for 225 yards and 2 INTs with the Bengals scoring no points. This was the first time the Bengals have been shut out in a Burrow start. Despite the woeful offense, his weapons did come through in PPR with WR Ja’Marr Chase going 10-132-0 on 16 targets. RB Chase Brown went 13-53-0 on the ground but 7-37-0 through the air catching all of his targets.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
One of Burrow’s interruptions was a fourth quarter pick-six to Kyle Van Noy (who lateraled it to Alohi Gilman).
Burrow grabbed headlines last week saying: "If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing it. I have been through a lot. If it's not fun, then what am I doing it for?”
This game certainly wasn’t fun.
He was without WR Tee Higgins in this game, but the shut out still was surprising.
On the other side of the ball, the Ravens recovered after losing to the Bengals and Steelers over the last two weeks. Lamar Jackson only threw 12 passes in the game going 8/12 for 150 yards and 2 TDs. He also ran for 26 yards.
Burrow does have two neutral fantasy match-ups over the rest of the fantasy playoffs going against the Dolphins and Cardinals. It might be tough to start him again after this week, but the passing volume still makes him attractive.
This will be a long offseason for the Bengals as they reflect on the poor season and what the next steps will be to not waste Burrow’s talent in his prime.
