Marvin Harrison Jr. Aggravates Heel Injury, Doesn't Record a Catch in Week 17

Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. played only 33% of the snaps in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. That ranked a distant third among Arizona WRs, behind Michael Wilson and Xavier Weaver. In fact, he only drew one official target, which didn't arrive until late in the second quarter. Harrison eventually left the game after re-injuring the same heel that made him a limited practice participant all week.

        What They're Saying

Here's a postgame comment from HC Jonathan Gannon, via beat writer Theo Mackie on X:

Gannon on why Marvin Harrison Jr. played today: "If he's healthy, he'll play. Help us win."

When asked whether Harrison was healthy, given that he exited with the same heel injury, Gannon said: "Yeah, he was out there."

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Sunday might be the last time we see Harrison suit up this season.

If so, he'll conclude 2025 with a highly disappointing line: 41 catches, 608 yards, and 4 TDs.

His season began with a 71-yard, 1-TD effort at New Orleans. But over his final 11 showings, he scored only three times. And he topped 70 yards just twice.

Perhaps most damning is the play of WR Michael Wilson, who excelled again on Sunday. The former third-rounder drew 10 targets (on 37 Jacoby Brissett attempts), snagging 5 for 89 yards and a score. Wilson is a top-five fantasy WR since he took on a larger role in Week 10. Since that time, he's earned a 26.2% target share and ranks tied for third among WRs in end zone targets (8).

        Dynasty Impact

We'd caution against selling low on Harrison, especially as he'll enter Year 3 at only 24 years old. (Plus, you shouldn't expect him to fetch much in a deal.)

There's just not an obvious case for a 2026 breakout.

The Cardinals might bring in a new coaching staff following 3 or 4-win season. They'll almost certainly look for a different QB, too, despite a late-season surge from 33-year-old Jacoby Brissett. Both factors add a layer of uncertainty for Harrison in the short term.

Plus, consider that both Wilson and Trey McBride remain under contract next season. McBride, only 26, just set the record for most TE catches in a single season (119).
