Rams WR Puka Nacua checked into a rehab facility last month. Per Nate Atkins of The Athletic, the Rams were “urging Nacua to grow as a person after a series of controversies off the field.” He's accused of biting two women and making an antisemitic comment on New Year’s Eve.
What They're Saying
Here’s the reaction from Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern (via The Athletic).
“Puka takes responsibility for his well-being and increasing his performance during the offseason. “… He is committed to using this time constructively so that he can return in the best possible position — both personally and professionally — to continue contributing to his team and the game he loves. He will complete the program in plenty of time to be involved in all of the Rams' OTAs. Puka is also deeply grateful for the support he has received from his family, friends, coach (Sean) McVay, and his teammates.”
Here's a comment from McVay at the NFL meetings in March.
“I trust this kid’s heart. I’ll continue to put my arm around him and help this kid grow… Let’s have an understanding of what the expectations are and who you can become and who you want to become.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
We'll see how this active lawsuit plays out and whether a league suspension follows.
On the football side, Nacua's actions supply added risk to him as an early-Round 1 pick. (He's currently going at the 1.04 in Underdog ADP.)
The off-field situation could also delay the new contract that he was expected to sign this offseason. Nacua, who enters the final year of his rookie deal, just watched Jaxson Smith-Njigba ink a record-setting WR contract ($42.15 million per year in new money).
Nacua finished last season with career highs in targets (166), catches (129), receiving yards (1,715), and TDs (10).
