Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan said Wednesday that RB De'Von Achane is "not available for trade." Sullivan noted that he's had "some positive conversations" in recent days regarding a contract extension for the 24-year-old. Achane is scheduled to enter the final year of his rookie contract.
What They're Saying
Here’s more from Sullivan (via The Athletic).
“He’s obviously very important to what we’re doing. “It’s all part of it. It’s part of professional sports. We’ll get where we need to be, one way or the other, but yeah, things are trending in the right direction.”
HC Jeff Hafley described Achane’s absence from voluntary OTAs as “part of the business.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Achane’s base salary ranks 37th among all RBs, per Spotrac. But he’s certainly proved worthy of a pay raise.
Achane set career highs in carries (238) and rushing yards (1,350) in 2025. He missed only Week 18 for a shoulder injury that he likely could have played through had Miami remained in playoff contention.
Achane’s third season also turned up another huge receiving line: 67 catches, 488 yards, and 4 TDs. Overall, he hit 16 PPR points in all but two games, finishing RB5 in total points.
The 2026 Dolphins figure to lean on Achane, especially with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill off the roster. That duo leaves behind 129 targets, and Miami only added role players in free agency (Tutu Atwell, Jalen Tolbert, Terrace Marshall).
Achane sticks in the top eight of our PPR RB rankings.
