The Giants are trading DT Dexter Lawrence to the Bengals for a package that includes the 10th overall pick in this year's draft. That means the Giants will be picking fifth and 10th. Lawrence recently requested a trade and indicated his desire to leave was not just about money. Multiple reports say, however, that the 28-year-old will be getting a contract extension from Cincinnati.
What They're Saying
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo: "Giants GM Joe Schoen flew to Arizona to attend Jordyn Tyson's workout yesterday. Schoen also had dinner with Tyson the night before, sources told me and @Rapsheet."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
The fantasy impact here is minimal ... for now.
The Giants defense gets worse for losing Lawrence, but it was a bad defense anyway.
Cincinnati's defense improves by adding Lawrence, but we'll see whether it becomes a unit we can use in fantasy. The Bengals still need to show they can generate sacks after losing Edge Trey Hendrickson to the Ravens.
Lawrence should rebound from a down 2025 in fantasy scoring but hasn't generally been a high-level IDP option.
The greatest fantasy impact just might come in whomever the Giants select with their two early first-rounders. Tyson sure seems like a strong candidate to fill one of those spots.
