The Cleveland Browns selected Washington WR Denzel Boston in the second round (Pick 39) of the 2026 NFL Draft. A three-star recruit out of Emerald Ridge High School in Tacoma, Boston stayed home at Washington. He spent his first two seasons buried behind Jalen McMillan, Rome Odunze, and Ja’Lynn Polk before stepping into the starting lineup as a junior. Once the opportunity arrived, the production followed. Boston posted near-identical stat lines across his final two seasons: 63-834-9 and 62-881-11. His underlying numbers popped in his final season, with his yards per catch (14.2), PFF receiving grade (87.2), and yards per route run (2.44) marking career highs. At 6’4, 212 pounds, Boston isn’t a burner but wins with route polish, ball tracking, and a proven ability to thrive in contested situations.
What They're Saying
Draft Sharks Rookie Guide: “Boston profiles as a physical, chain-moving outside receiver.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Boston was the second WR the Browns selected, following KC Concepcion in Round 1.
While Concepcion profiles more as a smaller WR who will be dangerous after the catch, Boston’s big body allows him to be a traditional "X" WR who has enough athleticism to gain separation in man coverage.
The Browns lack of a competent QB hinders Boston’s redraft potential. Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson are expected to compete for the starting job.
Boston’s top-40 draft position should earn him an instant starting role. His size should also keep Boston on the field in two-WR sets. His catch radius and downfield ability could at least lead to some big plays.
The lack of competition for targets will help. We currently rank him among the top-60 redraft WRs.
Dynasty Impact
The dynasty outlook for Boston appears to be brighter. If the Browns upgrade at QB, they are building a competent offense. Boston could provide a target sponge for a young QB with Boston’s ability as a safety blanket down the field.
Boston’s predraft grade as a borderline first round pick shows his upside. Boston can be considered in the late first round of your 1-QB rookie drafts.
