Browns Draft a Second WR in Denzel Boston
The Cleveland Browns selected Washington WR Denzel Boston in the second round (Pick 39) of the 2026 NFL Draft. A three-star recruit out of Emerald Ridge High School in Tacoma, Boston stayed home at Washington. He spent his first two seasons buried behind Jalen McMillan, Rome Odunze, and Ja’Lynn Polk before stepping into the starting lineup as a junior. Once the opportunity arrived, the production followed. Boston posted near-identical stat lines across his final two seasons: 63 catches, 834 yards, 9 TDs, and 62 catches, 881 yards, 11 TDs. His underlying numbers popped in his final season, with his yards per catch (14.2), PFF receiving grade (87.2), and yards per route run (2.44) marking career highs. At 6’4, 212 pounds, Boston isn’t a burner. But he wins with route polish, ball-tracking, and a proven ability to thrive in contested situations.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Boston was the second WR the Browns selected in the draft after taking KC Concepcion in Round 1.
While Concepcion profiles more as a smaller WR who will be dangerous after the catch, Boston’s big body allows him to be a traditional X WR who has enough athleticism to gain separation in man coverage.
The Browns lack of a competent QB hinders Boston’s redraft potential with either Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson likely to be the starter to open the year.
Boston’s draft position as a top 40 pick should earn him an instant starting role in the offense. His size should also keep Boston on the field in two WR sets. His catch radius and downfield ability could at least lead to some big plays.
The lack of competition for targets will help though. We currently rank him among the top-60 redraft WRs.
Dynasty Impact
The dynasty outlook for Boston appears to be brighter. If the Browns upgrade at QB, they are building a competent offense. Boston could provide a target sponge for a young QB with Boston’s ability as a contested safety blanket down the field.
Boston’s predraft grade as a borderline first round pick shows his upside. Boston can be considered in the late first of 1-QB rookie drafts.
