Cyrus Allen Headshot

Chiefs WR Cyrus Allen collided with CB Kaiir Elam as a gunner on special teams and was carted off with an apparent left knee injury, according to ESPN's Nate Taylor. Allen left with his jersey over his face. Allen had been tearing up early in training camp, generating buzz about a potential role as the Chiefs No. 3 WR. He had been earning the trust of Patrick Mahomes. The knee injury could put a damper on a potential rookie breakout.

What They're Saying: Carted Off After Collision

Nate Taylor, ESPN: “Cyrus Allen collided with Kaiir Elam as a gunner on a special teams punt rep. Allen stayed down with his helmet buried in the turf & then needed help to get off the field.

Allen left the field in the front of the cart with what appeared to be a left knee injury.

Cyrus Allen was just carted back to the Chiefs’ indoor training facility for further evaluation, sitting in the front of the cart.

A disappointed Allen was seen shaking his head & putting his jersey over his face.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Camp Climb Just Stalled

We don’t know the significance of the injury yet, but will continue to monitor and update this with new information.

Allen’s injury moves him from a camp-buzz, potential late-round draft pick back to undrafted in fantasy drafts.

Even without the injury, Allen was a longshot to make a meaningful fantasy contribution as a rookie without an injury in front of him. Any time missed in camp certainly puts a damper on the short-term (and even long-term) outlook.
