It was another eventful offseason for Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, highlighted by getting hitched to Taylor Swift. But HC Andy Reid says Kelce showed up to training camp in good shape and is primed for another productive season.

Reid: “He came back in good shape. I know everybody’s out there saying he’s got the dad body and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he’s always looked, and just playing like crazy. So he’s doing a nice job with everything. He’s focused in and ready to go, and I appreciate that, when you have somebody who’s been here 14 years and wants to be out there every snap.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Volume Keeps Him Draftable
Kelce turns 37 in October and is clearly past his prime. He posted career lows last year in receiving yards per game and yards per route.
But even a diminished Kelce remained valuable to both the Chiefs and fantasy managers last year. He ranked eighth among TEs in yards per game (50.1), ninth in PPR points per game, and 22nd among 49 qualifiers in yards per route (1.47).
With question marks up and down the WR corps, Kelce is a good bet to remain a key piece of Kansas City’s passing game this season. He drew an 18.5% target share last year, and that actually increased slightly to 18.7% in eight games with WR Rashee Rice.
We’re projecting a similar target share this season.
Kelce is unlikely to be a fantasy league winner, but he’s a fine pick at his late-ninth-round ADP.
