Jeremiyah Love Headshot

It’s been nearly two weeks since Jeremiyah Love suffered what the Cardinals were reluctant to call a high-ankle sprain. Cardinals beat writer Theo Mackie reported that Love was doing ankle agility work with trainers ahead of the team’s joint practice with the Packers today.

The Cardinals were hesitant to announce Love’s injury, first calling it a minor tweak, before finally declaring it a high-ankle sprain. That makes sense, given the team gave Love 14 touches in his first half of a preseason game before the injury.

Reports still suggest Week 1 is an unlikely return date, but Love’s progress is encouraging with the season approaching.

Love became just the 11th running back to post at least 26.0 PPR points per game (PPG) as a junior in college before getting drafted in the first round of the NFL draft.

The 10 before him all achieved at least a 15.0 PPG season in the NFL.

Love’s upside matches nearly any player you can draft in fantasy football, but his offensive environment and current injury leave his floor much lower than his talent suggests.
