Bears QB Tyson Bagent is dealing with a concussion and in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Caleb Williams will likely miss this week after his hamstring injury in Week 2, and now Bagent himself is in danger of missing Monday Night Football against the Eagles. That would put 38-year-old Case Keenum in line to start if Bagent does not clear the protocol.
What They're Saying: Keenum Could Be Up
Ian Rapoport, NFL.com: “Bears QB Tyson Bagent is dealing with a concussion and is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, sources say.
With Caleb Williams likely out with a hamstring injury, Case Keenum could be the starter vs the Eagles.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Bears Weapons Take A Hit
Bears weapons were already downgraded with Bagent likely to be the starter this week. A pivot to Keenum would hurt WRs Luther Burden and Rome Odunze along with TE Colston Loveland.
That QB situation, combined with an Eagles defense that has been middle of the league so far (17th in defensive DVOA), makes the Bears a potential avoid in Week 3.
The last time Keenum faced the Eagles (2019 for the Redskins) he went 30 of 44 for 380 yards and 3 TDs.
It’s not relevant after more than seven years, but it's an interesting note nonetheless.
