Bears QB Tyson Bagent will start Sunday's game vs. the Jets, The Athletic's Dan Wiederer reports. QB Case Keenum played well in last week's win over the Eagles, but Bagent won the No. 2 job this offseason, and the Bears remain high on his potential.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Bagent's most extensive NFL action came in 2023 before HC Ben Johnson arrived. He has just 13 regular-season attempts since the start of last season.
Bagent was excellent this preseason, though, completing 74% of his passes at 9.7 yards per attempt with 3 TDs vs. 1 INT.
Johnson has called Bagent an "elite backup," while OC Press Taylor said he "operates the system at a high level."
Bagent isn't a recommended start in 1-QB leagues, but he's certainly in play in 2-QB and superflex. And we're optimistic about his chance of keeping this Bears offense on track.
