Josh Downs Headshot

Colts WR Josh Downs caught 3 of 4 targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 30-13 win over the Commanders. His longest catch went for 9 yards, and he scored just 4.6 PPR points. Downs finished fourth on the team in targets, trailing Laquon Treadwell (6), Ashton Dulin (6) and TE Tyler Warren (5). The passing game as a whole was quiet, with Daniel Jones throwing for only 143 yards on 34 attempts. The Colts built a lead and ran the ball 30 times.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Where Did the Targets Go?

This was a big drop from Downs' Week 2 line of 7-72 on 9 targets, which came on a 30% target share. His share fell to 13.8% (4 of 29). He had 11 targets in Week 3 going 5-77. He also played 91% of pass snaps through the first three weeks. He did leave the game with a back injury at one point, but did not miss any time. The matchup makes this harder to swallow. Washington entered allowing the most schedule-adjusted WR points in the league (45.33 per game) and ranked 29th in pass defense DVOA (34.9%).

The schedule doesn't help much. The Steelers rank 19th in adjusted WR points allowed (31.20 per game) and 6th in pass defense DVOA. The Titans are the bounce-back spot, at 10th (36.21) and 27th in pass DVOA. The Vikings allow the 14th-most WR points (34.93), but they rank first in pass defense DVOA. Downs should still be a WR3 with Alec Pierce out, but this week showed his downside if the Colts’ passing game isn’t working.
