Jalen Hurts Headshot

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts will miss the rest of the season after doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs on Saturday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hurts will go on blood thinners and is expected to be sidelined for 3 months. He's expected to make a full recovery.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact

Hurts can be dropped from all redraft rosters.

It doesn't sound like this issue will extend beyond the 2026 season, and Hurts is signed with Philadelphia through the 2028 campaign. Despite a disappointing start to this year, he'll likely be back under center for the Eagles next season.

QB Tanner McKee is now set to start for Philly the rest of 2026. He struggled for most of yesterday's game vs. the Panthers before building some momentum in catch-up mode. McKee finished 26 of 45 (57.8%) for 215 yards (4.8 YPA), 1 TD, and 0 INTs.

He's not a good bet to turn into a QB1 option this year, although upcoming matchups against the Cowboys and Commanders put him in play in 2-QB and superflex leagues.

McKee at least proved capable of getting the ball to WR DeVonta Smith (7-75-1) and TE Dallas Goedert (6-61-0) vs. Carolina. Those guys remain viable fantasy starters going forward.
