Raiders QB Derek Carr suggested in a radio interview on Friday that WR Amari Cooper played hurt for much of the 2017 season. "That man was out there playing on 1 foot," Carr said. "He was out there just trying to give it his all even though he could barely get out there and do it ... Honestly, a lot of guys probably wouldn't have even played with what he had going on." Most guys deal with some level of injury throughout the course of an NFL season, so this doesn't completely excuse Cooper's disappointing 2017. But better health certainly won't hurt his chances of a bounce back this coming season. Cooper turns just 24 in June and topped 1,000 yards in both of his first 2 campaigns.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Eagles. He put in limited practices on Friday and Saturday. HC Jack Del Rio said Saturday afternoon that there's “a good chance" Cooper will play vs. Philly. He still can't be trusted in fantasy lineups, though, after aggravating that ankle injury just 14 snaps into his last outing.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Friday. The team reportedly expects him to play against the Eagles on Monday. We'll see about that. Regardless, Cooper can't be trusted in Week 16 fantasy lineups after lasting just 14 snaps last time out.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) is out for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys. He didn't practice all week and certainly isn't a lock to be back for Week 16. WR Michael Crabtree and TE Jared Cook will be the best bets for targets vs. Dallas.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on him playing against the Cowboys on Sunday night after aggravating that sprained ankle last week.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper re-injured his ankle in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game in Kansas City. He went catch-less on 1 target before exiting. We'll see if Cooper is able to return.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) is active for today's game against the Chiefs. So he evidently looked and felt good enough in pregame warmups. ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported this morning that Cooper will be on a “pitch count” — and there’s always the risk of an in-game setback with these ankle injuries. Consider Cooper more of a WR3 flier than a reliable fantasy play today.

There's a "good chance" Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) plays against the Chiefs today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cooper "impressed his team with how quickly he improved late in the week," Rapoport adds. After getting in just 1 limited practice, it's tough to believe Cooper will be anywhere close to 100% if active. It makes him a risk/reward WR3 against the defense he torched for 210 yards and 2 scores back in Week 7.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Chiefs after returning to a limited practice on Friday. HC Jack Del Rio said Cooper made “pretty gradual” improvement this week and "moved around pretty well" on Friday. He might end up as a game-time decision. Raiders-Chiefs kicks off at 1 pm ET on Sunday, so we'll know Cooper's status by noon. If active, he'll be a risk/reward WR3 at less than 100% in a plus matchup.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) remained sidelined on Thursday. It looks like he'll miss this weekend's game against the Chiefs. That figures to turn WR Michael Crabtree into a target hog in a plus matchup.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper has cleared the concussion protocol, according to insider Scott Bair. Cooper missed Wednesday's practice with his ankle injury, though, and is still iffy for this weekend's game against the Chiefs. We'll see if he's able to get back on the field tomorrow.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper remains in the concussion protocol, according to insider Michael Gehlken. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said yesterday that Cooper's ankle injury was the bigger Week 14 concern, but the concussion obviously also remains an obstacle. We'll monitor his progress throughout the week, but fantasy owners can't be counting on him playing against the Chiefs on Sunday.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the ankle injury looks like the bigger obstacle for Raiders WR Amari Cooper than does his progression through the concussion protocol. Cooper hit the injury list in Week 13 with both issues, but the ankle looks like the thing we'll need to watch heading into an upside Week 14 spot at Kansas City. Even an active Cooper could carry re-injury risk. We'll be watching closely for his participation this week and any reports on his outlook. Oakland, of course, will get WR Michael Crabtree back from his 1-game suspension.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (concussion, ankle) is out for Sunday’s game against the Giants. It’s unclear if it’s the concussion, ankle or both keeping him sidelined — but he’s no lock to be ready for Week 14. With WR Michael Crabtree suspended, Oakland is down to WRs Seth Roberts, Cordarrelle Patterson and Johnny Holton.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (concussion, ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He's a long shot to play against the Giants this weekend. With WR Michael Crabtree suspended, Oakland will be down to WRs Seth Roberts, Cordarrelle Patterson and Johnny Holton.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper sprained his ankle on the same play he was concussed yesterday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. No word yet on the severity of the sprain, but either or both injuries could keep Cooper out of Sunday's game against the Giants. Fantasy owners need to be lining up a replacement for Week 13.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper took a big hit to the head in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the Broncos. He appeared to be unconscious on the field but was eventually able to walk off under his own power. We'll update Cooper's status when we learn more.

Update: Cooper has been ruled out for the game with a concussion. It's the 1st known concussion of his career.

If you're comfy with Raiders WR Amari Cooper going consistently in the 2nd round of fantasy football drafts, then GM Reggie McKenzie probably agrees with you. According to the team website, he had this to say during a conference call with season-ticket holders: “We’re definitely hoping that he takes a big leap. He started off really good last year, and at the end we kind of fell off a little bit, but we’re expecting huge things from Amari this year. He’s doing great, he’s coming into his own, and I think he’s definitely going to put himself among the best of the best by the end of this season.” Cooper finished top-14 across fantasy formats in his 2nd season but ranked outside the top 40 over the 2nd half, while reaching 60 yards just once. He has displayed the ceiling that made him the 4th overall pick in 2015, but Cooper needs to get more consistent. The talent and opportunity is certainly there, especially if he can pass Michael Crabtree in targets in his 3rd season.

Raiders WR Michael Crabtree recorded team-highs in targets (8), catches (6), yards (60) and TDs (1) vs. San Diego. Playing through an injured ring finger, Crabtree dropped a pass or 2. But he made 1 of top catches of the week — a toe-tapper in the end zone — for his 8th score of the season. With Amari Cooper struggling, Crabtree will remain an upside WR2 for a Week 16 date vs. the Colts.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper botched a plus spot against the Chiefs on Thursday night. As expected, he didn't see much of CB Marcus Peters. But he still struggled to create separation and was also hurt by an uncharacteristically inaccurate Derek Carr. Cooper hauled in just 5 of 10 targets for 29 yards. He broke free for what could have been a 72-yard TD in the 4th quarter but either lost the ball in the lights or lost his footing and couldn't come down with it. Cooper has now been held under 60 yards in 5 straight games. There'll at least be some bounce-back appeal in Week 15 against a thin Chargers secondary. Cooper torched them for 138 yards and a score back in Week 5.
