Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders (foot) practiced on Monday and is expected to play in the team's preseason finale on Thursday.  He was originally expected to make his debut in Week 1, so he's ahead of schedule here.  WR Antonio Brown is getting all the headlines this preseason, but we still prefer Sanders as a late-round flier.  He has a better size-speed combo, and is widely-regarded as the more polished WR.

Steelers insider Gerry Dulac tapped the brakes on the Antonio Brown hype train, calling out the preseason darling for inconsistent route-running.  "Emmanuel Sanders, who has missed the preseason, is a better route-runner and a more polished receiver than Brown," Dulac writes.  We agree 100% and still have Sanders ranked ahead of Brown.  The latter is a better bet for early-season production, but Sanders has a better chance to eventually emerge as Pittsburgh's #2 WR.

First the bad news: WR Antonio Brown did a really stupid TD dance on Saturday night. The upside is that you can do whatever you want when you catch 4 balls for 137 yards and 2 scores. Brown topped all of his teammates by at least 100 yards and scored for the 2nd straight game. He's making a strong case to play a big role into the regular season, especially if Emmanuel Sanders' foot issues linger. Brown is a late-round lottery ticket in fantasy drafts, but expect him to jump several rounds after tonight's performance.

Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders (foot) isn't expected to play in either of the team's final 2 preseason games.  He put in limited practices on Tuesday and Wednesday and is still expected to be ready for Week 1.  Expect him to get off to a slow start though.  WR Antonio Brown will actually be the better fantasy bet the first few weeks of the year.

Steelers WR Antonio Brown hauled in a 29-yard TD on the team's 1st possession on Thursday night.  That follows a 4-catch, 64-yard performance in the preseason opener.  Brown has had a stellar training camp and is producing when the pads go on.  He has Pittsburgh's #4 WR spot locked-up, and he could even serve as the 3rd WR early on as Emmanuel Sanders works to come back from foot surgery.  Brown is worth a flier in deeper leagues.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger believes WR Antonio Brown has made big strides this offseason.  "Mentally I think he's really come a long way," Big Ben said. "I think he's understanding defenses and coverages and what he's supposed to do on certain plays. I really think that he has a chance to be something really special for us this year."  Brown is an undersized but shifty WR.  His biggest problem right now is that he's blocked on the depth chart by Mike Wallace, Hines Ward, and Emmanuel Sanders.  Brown should best last year's numbers of 16 catches and 167 yards in 2011, but he'd need an injury to at least one of the guys ahead of him on the depth chart to become a fantasy factor.  He's worth a stash in keeper and dynasty leagues though.
