Seahawks RBs Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls split 1st-team reps during the team's mock game on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Sheil Kapadia. Seattle is likely taking it easy on Lacy, who's returning from a serious ankle injury. But it's still that Rawls is being given a shot to win the lead job. He's lasting into the 13th round of recent drafts, while Lacy is going in the 7th.

Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) avoided the PUP list and was on the field for the start of training camp over the weekend. “He got his work done," HC Pete Carroll said. "He looks good. I’m really happy that he made it through all of the work to get to this point and he is ready to go, so we take it one day at a time, but really good first impression coming back for our first camp with him." Lacy was limited all spring after last October's ankle surgery, and Seattle figures to ease him in early on in camp. But, barring a setback, he should be a full-go come Week 1. Lacy is the favorite to lead the 2017 Seahawks in carries but needs to fend off RBs C.J. Prosise and Thomas Rawls.

It's "unclear" if Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) will be at 100% when training camp opens on July 30, according to the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta. Lacy underwent surgery way back in October and was limited this spring. We haven't heard any concern that he won't be ready come Week 1, but his status will be worth keeping a close eye on. Condotta mentions that RB Thomas Rawls is expected to "run with the first team" when camp opens. If Rawls can rediscover his 2015 form, Condotta writes, there's "no way he won’t have a significant role." Rawls is an intriguing flier at his RB51 ADP.

Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy earned his first weigh-in bonus this week by checking in at 253 pounds, under the 255 limit, according to the Seattle times. That shouldn't be his playing weight, but it signals his conditioning his heading in the right direction. The shape of his repaired ankle will ultimately matter more than his waistline, however. We'll see how the rest of this spring and summer treat the former Packer.

The Seahawks signed RB Eddie Lacy to a 1-year deal worth $5.55 million ($3 million guaranteed). Lacy appeared in just 5 games last year, but he proved efficient with 5.1 YPC and strong after-contact marks on 71 attempts. His season ended in November following right ankle surgery. Just like his weight, the ankle will be worth monitoring throughout the offseason. This move certainly takes some appeal from Thomas Rawls, who dealt with injuries of his own in 2016. C.J. Prosise -- yet another RB with durability questions -- should slide into a prominent pass catching role.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy revealed some details about the ankle injury that ended his 2016 season. I messed up my deltoid and widened the bone on my ankle, so I had to get two screws, two wires and a plate to fix it because I messed up my deltoid ligament,” Lacy said on Adam Schefter’s 'Know Them From Adam' podcast. “That’s the longest thing to heal." Bengals TE Tyler Eifert suffered a deltoid injury last May and was sidelined for 4 months. Lacy is now 4 months removed from his injury but still isn't able to run on solid ground. "By April, whenever I have to report, I should be able to go out and do everything," he added. Lacy figures to settle for a 1-year, "prove-it" deal in free agency. We'll see what kind of shape he's in when he hits the field.

Packers HC Mike McCarthy said this week that Ty Montgomery will stay at RB moving forward, even getting a RB jersey number for the 2017 season, according to the team website. “Talking with Ty in his exit interview, he’s a running back,” McCarthy said. “He wants to change his number and that’s the way we’re going. He’ll spend the whole offseason clearly working at the running back position.” Montgomery averaged a terrific 5.9 yards per rush after making the position switch during the year. An offseason of prep there should help his consistency, in both production and workload. The latter, though, might depend significantly on whether Green Bay re-signs RB Eddie Lacy, who is headed for unrestricted free agency.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Packers RB Eddie Lacy needs foot surgery and will be place on the IR. It's unclear if he has a chance to be the player designated for return. But even that would keep him out until at least Week 15. Lacy can safely be dropped in all redraft league. With RB James Starks expected to miss a few more weeks, newly acquired Knile Davis suddenly finds himself atop the depth chart. We don't love the player, but the situation makes him worth owning in most fantasy leagues. We'll see if the Packers promote undrafted rookie RB Don Jackson from the practice squad. ESPN's Rob Demovsky expects WR Ty Mongtomery to handle the majority of the backfield snaps against the Bears tonight.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) is now expected to miss "several weeks," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "It's more than a sprained ankle," Rapoport adds ominously. The Packers have already had their bye, so Lacy doesn't catch a break there. With RB James Starks (knee) also expected to miss multiple weeks, RB Knile Davis has become a lot more interesting. He's never been an efficient runner, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry for his career. But any RB set to potentially see 15+ touches per game is a fantasy asset.

Update: Green Bay has officially ruled him out for Thursday night's game against the Bears.

A source tells ESPN's Ed Werder that Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) is unlikely to play against the Bears on Thursday night. Lacy was obviously bothered by that bum ankle last week and didn't practice on Tuesday. We'll have a better idea of his status after Green Bay practices on Wednesday, but fantasy owners need to be making other plans for Week 7. RB Knile Davis, acquired by the Packers this morning, might operate as the lead back 2 days from now.

The Chiefs have traded RB Knile Davis to the Packers. He's been bandied about as a trade candidate for the past couple of seasons after falling out of favor in Kansas City. The 5'10, 227-pounder looks the part but has never averaged better than 3.5 yards per carry in a season. Davis heads to a Packers backfield that has a banged-up starter and a backup expected to miss a month. He should quickly assume a role and could even be a spot starter if Eddie Lacy misses time with his ankle issue. Davis is worth adding at least in deeper fantasy leagues.

Packers RBs Eddie Lacy (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Cowboys. He’s Green Bay’s only RB, so the team must not be overly concerned about that ankle. Lacy is safe to get into fantasy lineups.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reports that Packers RB James Starks had knee surgery on Sunday morning and is expected to miss a "couple of weeks." He's averaged 6 carries and 2.5 targets per game this year. The majority of that work figures to go to RB Eddie Lacy.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) will play against the Cowboys today. He'll be the team's only active RB. Randall Cobb will serve as the backup RB, per Rapoport. That gives Cobb's Week 6 profile a slight boost. But the big takeaway is that Green Bay is confident in Lacy's ankle. He's a strong RB2 vs. a Dallas defense allowing 4.8 yards per carry to RBs.

Packers RB James Starks (knee) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Green Bay has yet to add a RB to the roster, so they're clearly banking on RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) being able to go. He'll be a risk/reward RB2 vs. a Dallas defense allowing 4.8 yards per carry to RBs.

Packers RBs Eddie Lacy (ankle) and James Starks (knee) are both listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Lacy put in 3 limited practices this week. Starks, meanwhile, injured his knee on Tuesday and has been away from the team since after a death in the family. We're hoping to get some clarity of this situation by Sunday morning because Packers-Cowboys doesn't kick off until 4:25 pm ET.
