Packers RB Eddie Lacy (groin) is active for today’s game against the Vikings. He’ll play behind RB James Starks and is a shaky RB3/flex.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy (groin) is probable for Sunday’s game against the Vikings after putting in a full week of practice. It’s worth noting that HC Mike McCarthy said Lacy had "one of his better practices" on Thursday. The 1st-round fantasy pick is certainly worth monitoring, but he’s an extremely shaky Week 11 fantasy play. RB James Starks will again serve as Green Bay’s lead back.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy (groin) is inactive for today’s game against the Lions. That locks James Starks in as Green Bay’s feature back in a plus matchup. He’s a borderline RB1.

9:08am EST 11/14/15

Even Packers RB Eddie Lacy doesn't know what's wrong with Eddie Lacy. "I honestly don't know what it is," he said this week, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "Definitely, I'm off to a different start. I'm not playing how I was the previous two years. Later on in the season, maybe it'll pick back up, but as of right now, this is just the move that is going to be." Thanks, Ed. Maybe we'll see ya in 2016. James Starks looks like the Packers RB to use in fantasy football for the foreseeable future.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy (groin) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Lions. Lacy is expected to play, but he won’t be at 100% and will play behind RB James Starks. Lacy isn’t a recommended Week 10 fantasy start.

Packers HC Mike McCarthy labeled James Starks the team's "#1 back right now" on Wednesday.  "He's played very well; he's earned that opportunity," McCarthy added. "I'm not a big believer in just riding one running back the whole season. We'll stay with the 1-2 punch."  Eddie Lacy will remain involved, but Starks will lead the way against the Lions this weekend.  We're expecting 15 or so touches, making him a strong RB2 vs. the league's 21st-ranked RB defense.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy was able to go through a full workout on Monday, according to insider Rob Demovsky.  Lacy reportedly injured his groin yesterday, but it sure looks like it was more of a benching for the 4th quarter.  He was completely ineffective against the Panthers, taking 5 carries for 10 yards.  Lacy is on track to play vs. Detroit this weekend but will be tough to trust in fantasy lineups.  RB James Starks deserves a bigger role.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy injured his groin in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game against the Panthers and did not return.  HC Mike McCarthy didn't have an update on the severity afterward.  Even before going down, Lacy was benched for 3 series in the 2nd quarter after losing a fumble.  He finished with 5 carries for 10 yards.  RB James Starks, meanwhile, tallied 39 yards on 10 totes plus another 83 yards and a score on 6 catches.  We'll look for an update on Lacy's groin tomorrow.

6:20pm EST 11/1/15

Packers RB James Starks (hip) is active for tonight's game against the Broncos.  He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday.  We're curious to see how Green Bay divvies backfield touches after Starks went off for 117 total yards and 2 scores before the bye.

Packers RB James Starks was held out of Wednesday's practice with a hip injury.  It's especially concerning since Green Bay is coming off a bye.  We'll continue to track Starks' status leading up to Sunday night's game against the Broncos.  His absence would give Eddie Lacy an opportunity to regain feature-back duties.

Packers HC Mike McCarthy said RB Eddie Lacy "looked good" in Monday's post-bye week practice.  "I don’t think the injury is affecting him anymore," McCarthy added.  Lacy mustered just 3 yards on 4 carries in Green Bay's last game, seemingly impacted by a bum ankle.  We'd say that his practice participation this week will be worth monitoring, but he wasn't even listed on the Week 6 injury report.  We'll need to see Lacy look like himself again before considering him a safe fantasy play.

James Starks surprisingly served as the Packers' lead back in Sunday's win over the Chargers.  He out-snapped Eddie Lacy 30-21 and out-touched him 11-6.  "We're a one-two punch team," HC Mike McCarthy said afterward. "It's really no different than the way we operate. We went with James first just because he's been playing extremely well, and Eddie has been a little banged up."  Starks shredded San Diego for 112 yards and a score on 10 carries, plus a 5-yard TD catch.  Lacy, meanwhile, plodded to 3 yards on 4 carries.  The ankle he injured in Week 2 seems to be a problem still.  It remained heavily taped against the Chargers.  "He's still trying to get his ankle together," an anonymous player told insider Michael Cohen after the game.  Lacy averaged 4.5 yards per carry in the opener, injured that ankle in Week 2 and has mustered just 3.7 yards per carry in the 4 games since.  We'll see if the Week 7 bye helps, but Lacy will be tough to trust in fantasy lineups against a tough Broncos defense in Week 8.

6:06pm EDT 9/28/15

Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) is active for tonight's game against the Chiefs. He was upgraded to probable on Sunday, a sign that his ankle made good progress over the weekend. His workload could still be limited tonight -- and there's always a chance of an in-game aggravation -- but Lacy is a better fantasy play than RB James Starks tonight.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) and WR Davante Adams (ankle) have been upgraded to probable for Monday night's game against the Chiefs.  Both will play, although Lacy's workload could still be limited.  Adams should be ready for his usual role.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora hears that Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) will play but see a limited workload against the Chiefs on Monday night.  That's not a big surprise.  His workload will likely depend on how that ankle holds up throughout the game.  We have Lacy ranked as a RB2 this week.  He's still a better play than RB James Starks.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Chiefs.  He put in a limited practice on Friday and was also listed as limited Saturday, although Green Bay didn't actually practice.  They have a short workout scheduled for Sunday.  We probably won't know Lacy's official status until 90 minutes before Monday night's kickoff.  He seems to be progressing toward playing, but fantasy owners need to have RB James Starks rostered as insurance.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy sounded encouraged by the progress of his injured ankle after returning to a limited practice on Friday.  "It felt better when I went out there and ran today for the first time since then and we have a few more days to the game, and I can continue to rehab and hopefully I'll be able to get out there and play," Lacy said. "I felt good enough to be able to keep going longer [at practice] than what was expected though."  He'll likely end up questionable on the final injury report tomorrow, and we still might not know his official status until 90 minutes before Monday night's kickoff.  If you're hoping to start Lacy this week, you need to have James Starks rostered as a fallback.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) returned to practice on Friday.  He'll go through individual drills, per HC Mike McCarthy, and be listed as limited.  How that ankle responds to the workout will go a long way toward determining whether Lacy will play against the Chiefs on Monday night.  For now, he still seems no better than 50/50.  WR Davante Adams (ankle) also returned to a limited practice on Friday and should be fine for the Chiefs game.

Packers HC Mike McCarthy said RB Eddie Lacy and WR Davante Adams will be held out of Thursday's practice with their ankle injuries.  Both guys will do some "pre-practice" work.  Adams was able to return to last Sunday night's game and should be fine for Monday night's tilt against the Chiefs.  Lacy appears no better than 50/50 at this point.  Check back tomorrow for another update.

The Packers plan to have RB Eddie Lacy test out his injured ankle on Thursday.  "Eddie was here today for treatment and we'll see how he moves around Thursday," HC Mike McCarthy said. "I think anytime you have ankle injuries, particularly with the perimeter players, until they get out there and hit the practice field whether it's in the pre-practice, we really won't know."  Lacy has an extra day to get ready for Monday night's game against the Chiefs, but that could put fantasy owners in a tough spot if he ends up a game-time decision.  With a viable backup in RB James Starks, Green Bay shouldn't feel the need to force Lacy back before he's ready.
