Rams Add Max Klare to an Overcrowded TE Room
The Los Angeles Rams selected Ohio State TE Max Klare in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Klare broke out as a redshirt sophomore at Purdue in 2024, leading the team in all major receiving categories and registering a strong 30.9% dominator rating. His 2.22 yards per route ranked 11th among 85 FBS WRs with 30+ targets. Klare transferred to Ohio State for the 2025 campaign and wasn’t as productive playing behind first-round WR Carnell Tate and future first-round WR Jeremiah Smith. But Klare finished third on the Buckeyes in catches (43) and receiving yards (448). The 6’4, 246-pounder is a well-rounded TE. He ran 47% of his college routes from the slot and 43% inline. Klare creates mismatches with his burst, runs tight routes, and is a serviceable blocker. He doesn’t boast the upside of Kenyon Sadiq or Eli Stowers, but Klare can develop into a fantasy TE1.
