The Vikings are trading a pair of draft picks to the Jaguars for DE Yannick Ngakoue, according to multiple reports. Jacksonville gets a 2021 second-rounder and a conditional 5th-round pick in 2022. According to Adam Schefter, that pick becomes a 4th if Ngakoue makes the Pro Bowl this season; a 3rd if Ngakoue makes the Pro Bowl and the Vikings win the Super Bowl. Ngakoue has delivered 8+ sacks and 14+ QB hits in each of his 4 seasons. He should quickly take over the right DE job from Ifeadi Odenigbo, who has been replacing the departed Everson Griffen. The Jaguars, meanwhile, now have more edge snaps available for 1st-round pick K'Lavon Chaisson. He has reportedly impressed HC Doug Marrone since returning from an early-camp hamstring injury.

Vikings DE Danielle Hunter hasn't practiced since Aug. 14, the team's official opening to camp. That's 10 straight missed practices for Hunter. According to multiple reports, HC Mike Zimmer has revealed only that Hunter is dealing with "a little tweak." Zimmer told ESPN's Courtney Cronin earlier this week that Hunter is "getting a little better every day" and that he'll return when head trainer Eric Sugarman deems the DE ready. The situation obviously adds some risk to the guy currently leading our DL rankings. But the lack of info makes it tough to tell just how much we need to worry. For now, we'd wait a little longer to draft Hunter than normal, though we're not pushing any other D-linemen ahead of him. If you'd rather pass on the uncertainty in your draft, of course, that's a reasonable path. We'll keep an eye out for Hunter's return.

The Associated Press reports that the Vikings will name Gary Kubiak their new OC. Kubiak spent 2019 on the Minnesota staff as an offensive adviser and assistant to HC Mike Zimmer. The move gives Minnesota continuity from the scheme that helped usher in RB Dalvin Cook's 2019 breakout while deploying 1 of the league's most run-heavy approaches. We'd expect plenty more running under an OC who has historically liked his RBs. QB Kirk Cousins, meanwhile, finished 2019 low in QB2 territory, reaching 2 TD passes in just 7 of 15 games. Expect him to remain in QB2 territory in our 2020 fantasy football rankings, and approach Cousins as a platoon option in the double-digit rounds of early best-ball drafting. He and Minnesota's WRs do, at least, present a nice week-to-week ceiling.

Vikings MLB Eric Kendricks left in the 1st half on the Monday night game against the Packers with a quad injury. He's officially questionable to return, but Kendricks could be seen in a sweatshirt on the sideline in the 3rd quarter. He's probably not wearing that back into the game.

Vikings S Harrison Smith (hamstring), DT Linval Joseph (knee) and S Anthony Harris (groin) are active for tonight's game against the Seahawks. Each entered the day questionable but is ready if you waited on him for IDP use.

Vikings DT Linval Joseph (knee), S Harrison Smith (hamstring) and S Anthony Harris (groin) are questionable for Monday night's game against the Seahawks. Joseph and Smith each progressed to full Saturday workouts and look likely to make it back for the game. Harris spent the full week limited and isn't worth waiting on for IDP lineups.

Vikings S Harrison Smith left Sunday's win over the Broncos late with a left hamstring injury. He gets a well-timed Week 12 bye, so we'll see about Smith's status for Week 13.

The Vikings have ruled S Anthony Harris out for Sunday's game against the Broncos because of a groin injury. He put in a limited practice Wednesday before sitting out the next 2 days. Jayron Kearse figures to get the start in his place. Minnesota will also go without DT Linval Joseph for the 2nd straight game. He had an operation on his right meniscus last week but might be back after the Week 12 bye.

The Vikings have ruled DT Linval Joseph out for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys with a knee injury. A Week 12 bye could factor into whether Minnesota brings Joseph back for next week's home date with Denver.

The Vikings have removed OLB Anthony Barr from the injury report. He missed last week's game with a knee injury, allowing Eric Wilson to take over full-time snaps and deliver a big IDP outing (11 tackles, 2 sacks). But with Barr ready to face the Bears, expect Wilson to return to playing about half the game and not offering much IDP value.

Vikings OLB Anthony Barr is inactive for today's game against the Raiders. Make sure he's not in your IDP lineups. His absence takes a playmaker out of the Minnesota lineup, but the defense remains a strong play against Oakland.

Never mind. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that OLB Anthony Barr has decided to re-sign with the Vikings rather than going to the Jets in free agency. That should keep him a limited IDP factor. It's also a reminder that none of these moves will be set until Wednesday afternoon, when free agency actually opens with the new league year.

The Vikings have ruled LB Eric Kendricks (hamstring) out for Sunday's game against the Bears. Eric Wilson started in his place last week, played 72 of 75 snaps and supplied 6 tackles (5 solo). If that's enough to make him worthwhile in your scoring system, then consider Wilson.

The Vikings have ruled LB Eric Kendricks out for Sunday's game against the Lions because of a hamstring injury. Kendricks' absence enhances the fantasy outlook for OLB Anthony Barr, raising his tackle floor.

Vikings DT Sheldon Richardson (hip) is active for today's game against the Dolphins. He's a lower-level IDP option but looks fine to use if he factored into your plans.

As expected, Vikings MLB Eric Kendricks is active for tonight's game against the Seahawks. He missed most of the practice week with a rib injury, but HC Mike Zimmer said Kendricks would be "fine" for the game.
