New York Giants Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Giants Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux had surgery Wednesday to repair wrist fracture. HC Brian Daboll says the scaphoid bone injury leaves Thibodeaux "week-to-week," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Giants Edge Brian Burns is questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns with a groin injury. But NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that he "should be good to go." Burns remains a low-level option for IDP lineups amid a slow start to his first Giants season.

The Giants added Edge Brian Burns to the injury report Friday after a groin injury limited his practice time. He's now questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. LB Darius Muasau (knee) is also questionable after three limited practices. If Muasau winds up inactive, it would mean more playing time for LB Micah McFadden. He went from not playing in the opener to seeing 79% snap share with Muasau inactive in Week 2.

Giants DL Dexter Lawrence (hamstring) is active for tonight's game against the Packers. Use him as planned in IDP lineups, but there's likely some re-injury risk. Lawrence remained limited in practice all week despite a Week 13 bye since he missed Week 12.

Giants DT Dexter Lawrence (hamstring) is questionable for Monday night's game against the Packers. He remained limited throughout the practice week coming off the Week 13 bye. ESPN's Jordan Ranaan said he "feels good about Lawrence's chances" of playing. We'll check Lawrence's status ahead of Monday's game.

The Giants list DT Dexter Lawrence as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Patriots. He missed practice all week with a hamstring injury. He'll get the Week 13 bye to heal up. We'll see about his status for Week 14 against Green Bay.

Giants Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux has cleared the concussion protocol and will play Sunday against Washington. That's a surprising progression after he suffered his injury just last Sunday. Thibodeaux tallied 1.5 sacks in the previous meeting with Washington. He has just two games all season with more than 1 solo tackle, so the floor is low if he doesn't convert any sacks. But the upside will be worth chasing for many IDP lineups. He has moved up to DL2 territory in our Week 11 rankings.

Giants Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux suffered a concussion in Sunday's game against the Cowboys. He'll need to pass through the league protocol before returning to action. That has typically meant at least one game down for the injured player since the system was implemented. In Thibodeaux's case, that would mean missing a rematch with the Washington offense that allowed him 1.5 sacks in Week 7.

The Giants are trading DL Leonard Williams to the Seahawks for a second-round pick in 2024 and a fifth-rounder in 2025. Williams certainly helps a Seattle D-line that recently lost Uchenna Nwosu for the season. There's probably not much fantasy impact here, though. Williams sits outside the top 80 D-linemen in fantasy points so far and ranks 19th among interior D-linemen in Pro Football Focus pass-rushing grade.

Giants Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) is active for today's game against the Jets. He's not a high-level fantasy play but sits on the fringe of DL2 territory. CB Adoree' Jackson (neck) is also active. He's a low-level IDP option at most.

Giants Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets after three limited practice days. We'll check his status Sunday.

Giants LB Micah McFadden (ankle) is active for tonight's game against the Bills. That will mark his return after missing Week 5, and should return Isaiah Simmons to a reserve role.

Giants Edge Azeez Ojulari left Sunday's loss to the Dolphins with an ankle injury. He has already lost time to a hamstring injury this year and supplied little production when he has made it onto the field. Ojulari isn't worth much IDP attention right now.

Giants LB Micah McFadden (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Dolphins.

Giants LB Micah McFadden is questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. He suffered an ankle injury during the practice week that limited his participation Thursday and Friday. We'll check his status Sunday morning.

Giants Edge Azeez Ojulari (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He did manage limited practices all week, so we'll see whether Ojulari can make it back for Week 3. Jihad Ward figures to join Kayvon Thibodeaux as the top edge players for the Giants. Ward has just 13 career sacks through seven seasons. There's upside to the Arizona matchup, but he's not worth the risk. Isaiah Simmons interestingly spent a little more than half of his defensive playing time on the edge in Week 1. He could factor more into the scheme against his old team. But he also played just 15 defensive snaps in the opener. He'd need a lot more playing time to be worth considering for your IDP lineup.

The Cardinals are trading Isaiah Simmons to the Giants for a seventh-round pick. That marks a steep fall for the former first-round pick who is in just his fourth season, the final on his rookie contract. Arizona moved Simmons from LB to safety this offseason but clearly wasn't satisfied with him in the new role. We'll see whether Simmons can carve out a meaningful role with his new team, but odds stand against him rebuilding IDP value.

The Giants have agreed to a four-year pact with LB Bobby Okereke. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that it's worth $40 million total, with $22 million of that guaranteed. It clearly positions Okereke as the lead LB for a team that has lacked such a guy since Blake Martinez tore an ACL early in 2021. Okereke spent the past two seasons starting for the Colts, racking up 283 total tackles. He has also defensed 17 passes across four seasons. Okereke sits among the top 15 LBs in our dynasty rankings. Don't be surprised if he lands inside the top 10 when our 2023 IDP rankings come out.

Giants DL Leonard Williams left Sunday's win over the Colts with a neck injury. He missed time earlier this season with a neck issue. We'll keep an eye on this one to see his Week 18 status. Don't be surprised if he sits, though, with a playoff berth sewed up.

Giants EDGE Azeez Ojulari (ankle) and S Xavier McKinney (hand) are active for today's game against the Colts. Both carry IDP upside against a struggling offense. McKinney sits higher in our Week 17 IDP rankings, at their respective positions.
