Ohio State LB Arvell Reese landed with the Giants as the fifth pick of the NFL Draft. Reese figures to play primarily on the edge in the pros but has seen limited action in that spot to date.

The Giants are trading DT Dexter Lawrence to the Bengals for the 10th overall pick in this year's draft. That means the Giants will be picking fifth and 10th. Lawrence recently requested a trade and indicated his desire to leave was not just about money. Multiple reports say, however, that the 28-year-old will be getting a contract extension from Cincinnati.

The Giants are releasing veteran LB Bobby Okereke ahead of the final year on his contract. The move clears $9 million in cap space, according to Spotrac. Okereke started 46 of 51 games across three seasons after arriving from the Colts in free agency, sitting out five weeks in 2024.

The Giants are signing Dennard Wilson to be their new defensive coordinator. Wilson spent the past two years running a Tennessee defense that hasn't been awesome but probably performed better than you think. The Titans ranked 21st in total yards allowed last season; second in 2024. The team also finished a decent 17th in defensive DVOA in Wilson's first season (down to 29th in 2025). This year's unit improved against the run over the second half, after DT Jeffery Simmons returned from a mid-season injury. Wilson's NFL run dates back to 2009, when he started as a pro scout with the Bears. He worked under Lovie Smith there ahead of turns with the Rams, Jets, Eagles, and Ravens. Walker spent 2023 as DBs coach under new Giants HC John Harbaugh before taking the Titans job.

Giants CB Paulson Adebo will not play against the Packers. Although officially active, Adebo "felt discomfort in his knee after warmups," according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Get him out of your IDP lineups.

The Giants have ruled Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux (shoulder) out for Sunday's game against the Packers. S Tyler Nubin (neck) is doubtful, and thus likely to miss the game as well. The team lists CB Paulson Adebo (knee) and LB Bobby Okereke (shoulder) as questionable, but it appears they're expected to play.

Giants Edge Brian Burns left the stadium with a walking boot on his right foot after Sunday's loss to the Broncos, according to multiple reports. He told reporters it's not serious, though.

Giants DL Dexter Lawrence (illness) and S Tyler Nubin (groin) are active for today's game. There's some risk to each. Nubin remained limited in practice Thursday and Friday, while Lawrence missed the whole week of practice. Each also carries IDP upside in the matchup with the Saints, though.

Shortly after the Giants took Edge Abdul Carter third in the draft, ESPN's Jordan Ranaan reported that the team will exercise the fifth-year option on Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux's rookie contract. That extends his deal through 2026.

The Giants have seleted Edge Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick in the NFL Draft. Carter tallied 12 sacks last season among an FBS-leading 24 tackles for loss. That came in the first among his three years that saw him move primarily to the edge. Carter delivered 11 TFLs and 6.5 sacks as a true freshman, despite seeing limited pass-rush opportunities.

The Giants have agreed to a three-year deal with S Jevon Holland. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that it'll pay $45.3 million, with $30.3 million guaranteed and a max value of $46.8 million. Holland is one of six defensive players the Giants have imported this week.

Giants LB Bobby Okereke will miss his third straight game Sunday against the Falcons because of a back injury. Okereke has yet to even practice over that span, which doesn't bode well for his chances of returning for Week 17.

Giants rookie S Tyler Nubin had surgery Monday to repair the ankle he injured in the Week 14 loss to the Saints. He landed on IR ahead of Sunday's loss to the Ravens but should be ready for the start of 2025.

The Giants have ruled LB Bobby Okereke out for the second straight week with a back injury. Okereke remained out of practice all week, so we'll see about his status for Week 16 (and beyond). His absence once again elevates Micah McFadden and Darius Muasau to the top and second LB spots, respectively, for Sunday's game against the Ravens. McFadden presents more value if your league scores tackles for loss. He racked up 5 of them last week and now has 8 for the year. McFadden has also reached 11 total tackles in three of his past five games.

The Giants have ruled LB Bobby Okereke out for Sunday's game against the Saints because of a back injury. HC Brian Daboll said earlier this week that he hoped Okereke would be ready for the game, so it doesn't seem like a long-term issue. But Okereke missed all three practice days. His absence should leave Micah McFadden and rookie Darius Muasau as the top two off-ball LBs vs. New Orleans.

Giants DL Dexter Lawrence dislocated his left elbow in Thursday's loss to the Cowboys and will miss the rest of the season. HC Brian Daboll called the issue "long term" on Friday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. We'll see about Lawrence's outlook for 2025 but don't expect it to be that long-term an issue.

The Giants on Saturday activated Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux from IR. He missed the past five games following surgery for a wrist fracture. Thibodeaux was deemed questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, but his activation indicates he's ready to play.
