Dolphins QB Josh Rosen was benched in the 2nd half of Sunday's game against the Redskins after completing 15 of 25 passes for 85 scoreless yards and 2 INTs. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is in the game for Miami. We'll see who they go with in Week 7 in Buffalo -- but continue to stay far, far away from the situation in fantasy football.

Dolphins QB Josh Rosen exited in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game in Dallas for a concussion check. We'll pass along an update when we get one. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has entered the game for Miami.

Update: Rosen re-entered after missing just a few snaps.

The Dolphins have named QB Ryan Fitzpatrick the starter for the regular-season opener, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. That puts Fitzpatrick in charge of an ugly Miami offense that opens vs. the Ravens and Patriots at home and then the Cowboys on the road. Don't expect to mine much fantasy football value here. We'll see how quick the hook might be if Fitzpatrick and the offense struggle.

Dolphins QB Josh Rosen drew the start in Friday night's preseason game against the Bucs. He played the entire 1st half, completing 10 of 18 passes (55.6%) for 102 yards (5.7 YPA). Rosen's receivers dropped a couple of balls, but he was also spared an INT when Bucs CB Jamel Dean dropped an easy one. Rosen also took 3 sacks. It was a mostly uninspiring performance -- but QB Ryan Fitzpatrick didn't fare any better, completing just 3 of 9 passes for 20 yards on 3 possessions. HC Brian Flores announced after the game that Fitzpatrick will start the 3rd exhibition. That seemingly makes him the favorite to be under center come Week 1. But this continues to be a situation to avoid in fantasy drafts.

Dolphins HC Brian Flores said Tuesday of his team's QB competition, "It's pretty clear to me that Ryan Fitzpatrick is leading the way," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That has seemed to be the word since workouts began. The Fitzpatrick-Josh Rosen battle only really matters for leagues deep enough to draft all QB starters. Fitzpatrick has proved his weekly upside with several franchises to date, though.

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick worked with the starters on the 1st day of Dolphins training camp Thursday. It'd frankly make zero sense for the rebuilding Dolphins to play the 36-year-old Fitzpatrick over Josh Rosen. But we've seen NFL teams do dumber things than that. Fitzpatrick, of course, would be a more exciting fantasy option than Rosen. Fantasy owners should avoid this situation in drafts until the Fins name a Week 1 starter.

The Dolphins have agreed to a 2-year, $11 million contract with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, according to multiple reports. The deal sets Fitzpatrick up as the starter on a depth chart that just lost Ryan Tannehill to trade. We'll see what else Miami does this offseason at the position.

Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter said Monday that he'll stick with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick as his starter for Sunday's visit to the Giants. Fitzpatrick threw a pair of INTs and lost a fumble in the Week 10 loss to Washington but also threw for 406 yards while piloting an offense that topped 500 yards for the game. Another rough outing, however, seems likely to get him the hook. As always, we'll keep watching this QB situation. Whoever's starting carries intriguing fantasy upside just about every week.

Bucs HC Dirk Koetter admitted that he'll consider going back to QB Jameis Winston after Sunday's loss to the Redskins. "Of course, yes ... We'll talk about all personnel issues tomorrow," Koetter said in his post-game presser. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick chucked for 406 yards vs. Washington, but he finished with 0 TDs, threw 2 INTs and lost a fumble. We'll see who the Bucs roll with for Week 11. Whoever it is will be a viable QB1 against the Giants.

Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter announced Monday that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will start the Week 9 game at Carolina. It was basically a necessary move after Jameis Winston threw his way to 4 INTs and a double-digit deficit at Cincinnati, and then Fitzpatrick marched them back for a late tie. We've seen both extremes of Fitzpatrick this season, from the 1st 3 weeks that had him leading all fantasy QBs in scoring to the Chicago game that got him yanked. The Panthers arrive as a neutral scoring matchup for QBs on the year, though slightly positive according to our adjusted fantasy points allowed. Fitzpatrick will be a streaming-level option for Week 9. We'll see how he performs there before projecting this situation beyond Week 9. Matchups with Washington and the Giants over the following 2 weeks don't present special fantasy upside, but then come 3 straight potential spot-start home matchups: 49ers, Panthers and Saints. Go ahead and pick up Fitzpatrick if you're shopping the QB market this week. We'd hold off on dropping Winston for now, though, if you can sacrifice the roster spot.

Bucs QB Jameis Winston was benched late in the 3rd quarter after throwing his 4th INT of the game. All of the picks were ugly. Winston finished 18 of 35 (51.4%) for 276 yards and just 1 TD. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is in for Tampa. We'll see who they go with in Week 9.

Bucs HC Dirk Koetter confirmed on Monday that QB Jameis Winston will be the team's starter coming out of the Week 5 bye. Winston replaced QB Ryan Fitzpatrick at halftime of yesterday's game in Chicago, completing 16 of 20 passes (80%) for 145 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs. He scored as the #4 QB in his 11 healthy games last season, averaging 307 passing yards and 1.7 TDs. Winston will be in the QB1 mix for a plus Week 6 matchup against the Falcons.

Bucs QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched at halftime of Sunday's game in Chicago. Tampa's defense was just as much to blame for the 35-point deficit, but Fitzpatrick completed just 9 of 18 for 126 yards and an INT. QB Jameis Winston will finish out this game -- and we're expecting him to be under center when the Bucs come out of their Week 5 bye.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Bucs QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will start today's game against the Bears. Fitz is buried in our Week 4 QB Rankings in Chicago, where the Bears have allowed just 16.4 points and .9 pass TDs per game across 9 outings dating back to the start of last season. His performance today will go a long way toward determining whether Fitzpatrick or Jameis Winston is under center when the Bucs come out of their Week 5 bye.

Bucs QB Ryan Fitzpatrick took the "majority" of 1st-team snaps at Wednesday's practice, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That'd be ahead of QB Jameis Winston, who has rejoined the team after serving his 3-game suspension. The Bucs have yet to announce a starter for Sunday's game against the Bears, but all signs point to Fitzpatrick getting the nod.

The NFL officially announced Bucs QB Jameis Winston's 3-game suspension for violating the personal conduct policy. Winston issued a statement and made no mention of appealing the ruling. "I now look forward to putting this behind me and I will continue to work hard every day to be a positive influence in my community and be the best person, teammate and leader I can be," Winston wrote. So he'll miss the first 3 games of the season against the Saints, Eagles and Steelers. He'll return for Week 4 before going on a Week 5 bye. It makes Winston undraftable in standard-sized, lineup-setting leagues -- but he still makes sense as a late-round QB2 or QB3 in best ball. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is the favorite to start those first 3 weeks but will likely only be an option in 2-QB leagues. Fitzpatrick should at least be able to keep the Bucs offense on track. Tampa averaged 24.5 points in the 4 games Fitzpatrick saw extensive action in last year.

The NFL is expected to suspend Bucs QB Jameis Winston 3 games for violating its personal conduct policy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The ban stems from a March 2016 incident when Winston allegedly groped an Uber driver. Charges were never filed against Winston, but the NFL has taken a hard line in these situations since the Ray Rice debacle. Schefter does add that "the league still has not notified Winston of its official decision, and the circumstances surrounding it still could lead to an increase or decrease of the three games." So this doesn't sound officially official yet. But fantasy drafters should be planning for now on Winston missing the first 3 games of the season vs. the Saints, Eagles and Steelers. It's a blow to his best-ball value and makes him tough to draft in standard-sized lineup-setting leagues. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is in line to start while Winston serves his suspension. Fitzpatrick was serviceable in 5 appearances last year, completing 58.9% of his passes with 7 TDs vs. 3 INTs. He's unlikely to be more than a QB2 option -- especially with no teams on bye during those first 3 weeks -- but is at least capable of keeping the Bucs' skill-position guys afloat.

Jeff Cameron of ESPN Radio 97.9 in Tallahassee, Fla., reports that Bucs QB Jameis Winston and his "camp" expect a league suspension over 2016 charges that Winston groped a female Uber driver. Winston's crew reportedly expects "a maximum of 3 games." Guess we'll see about this case, which surrounds an ongoing investigation. Obviously, any missed time would alter Winston's fantasy outlook. Losing the 1st 3 weeks would cost him a trip to New Orleans plus home matchups with Philly and Pittsburgh. Those defenses ranked 5th, 8th and 7th, respectively, in Football Outsiders' pass-D efficiency last season.

The Buccaneers on Friday signed QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to back up Jameis Winston. There's obviously no fantasy relevance here unless Winston goes down. But if that happens, Fitzpatrick would inherit a nice corps of pass catchers and present some spot-start potential.

The Jets have voided the final year on QB Ryan Fitzpatrick's contract, making him a free agent. It was an easy decision after Fitzpatrick tanked in 2016, completing just 56.6% of his passes with 12 TDs and 17 INTs. The 34-year-old will need to settle for a backup job in 2017.
