Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
The Buccaneers have ruled out S Antoine Winfield Jr. for Thursday night's game against the Falcons. It'll mark his fourth straight missed game following an ankle sprain late in Week 1. But Winfield did put in a limited practice Wednesday, his first participation since the injury. We'll see if the 10 days between that Week 5 contest and the Week 6 visit to New Orleans gives Winfield enough time to return. Reports initially said the team expected Winfield to miss "at least" two weeks. That the Bucs didn't put Winfield on IR, though, pointed to their hope that he'd return inside four games. DT Calijah Kancey (calf) has also been ruled out for Week 5. He has yet to play this season because of that injury and didn't practice at all this week.
Buccaneers CB Zyon McCollum has cleared the concussion protocol and will play today against the Lions, ESPN's Jenna Laine reports.
Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield Jr. will miss at least two games and could be out as much as a month, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. Winfield suffered an ankle injury late in Sunday's win over the Commanders and left the stadium in a walking boot. Stroud adds that the Bucs are "cautiously optimistic" it'll be just two weeks.
The Buccaneers have ruled Edge Shaq Barrett (groin) and CB Carlton Davis (concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Saints. That hurts an already vulnerable pass defense. It's a nice fantasy spot for New Orleans QB Derek Carr and WR Chris Olave.
Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield Jr. (calf) is active for today's game against the Jaguars. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.
The Buccaneers expect S Antoine Winfield Jr. to play today against the Jaguars, according to Pewter Report. Winfield popped up on the injury report as questionable after missing Friday's practice with a calf issue. We'll confirm his status when the late-game inactive come out around 3 p.m. But it sounds like you should have Winfield available for your IDP lineups. He's a high-level play in an upside matchup.
Buccaneers LB Devin White entered Sunday questionable with a foot injury. So when he turned up inactive against the Packers, that seemed to be the reason. But Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that Bucs coaches told White ahead of the game that he wouldn't start. He responded that he "couldn't go," and was thus a healthy scratch. Barring some public change on that story, it's tough to see why Tampa would go back to White for Week 16. So don't plan to have the veteran LB available for IDP use. K.J. Britt took White's spot but collected only 6 tackles (3 solo, 1 tackle for loss). Lavonte David should be the only Bucs LB in your fantasy considerations the next two weeks.
Buccaneers LB Devin White (foot) is inactive for today's game against the Packers. That means another start for rookie LB Sirvocea Dennis, who's merely a low-level IDP option. CB Jamel Dean (ankle, foot) and DT Vita Vea (toe) are active. Vea's a surprise after he didn't practice all week and got listed as doubtful. His return helps the Tampa Bay run defense.
Buccaneers LB Devin White (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers. HC Todd Bowles told reporters Friday that White will be a "game-day decision." That's a little surprising after he put in full practices Thursday and Friday, but White did miss the past two games. We'll check his status Sunday but would bet he'll play. Tampa Bay ruled CB Carlton Davis (groin) out. DT Vita Vea (toe) is doubtful. CB Jamel Dean (ankle, foot) is questionable.
The Buccaneers have ruled LB Devin White (foot) out for the second straight game. That should mean a start for rookie LB SirVocea Dennis, who's off the final injury report after missing last week with an illness. LB LaVonte David is also ready to return after missing the past two games with a groin injury. Check our Week 14 LB rankings to see where each guy lands. David's week of full practices and his upside matchup has moved him way up vs. the start of the week. Tampa Bay has also ruled out CB Jamel Dean (ankle, foot). DT Vita Vea (toe) is questionable after missing all three practice days. His status shouldn't impact many IDP lineups, but his absence would improve the matchup for Falcons RBs.
The Buccaneers have ruled out LB Lavonte David (groin) and LB Devin White (foot) for Sunday's game against the Panthers. No. 3 LB SirVocea Dennis is also doubtful with an illness. That leaves K.J. Britt and J.J. Russell as the only non-edge LBs on the depth chart. Britt has 33 total tackles through three pro seasons. Russell has 7 since entering the league in 2022. Neither looks like a guy worth attention in your IDP league. The dearth of LBs could help Carolina's passing game over the middle. We wouldn't give the Panthers' run game a significant upgrade, though. Tampa Bay also ruled CB Jamel Dean out.
Buccaneers LB Devin White (foot) and CB Carlton Davis (hip) are active for today's game against the Colts. Each should be OK for normal-level IDP usage. LB Lavonte David's absence (groin injury) increases White's tackle upside.
The Buccaneers have officially ruled LB Lavonte David (groin) and CB Jamel Dean (ankle, foot) out for Sunday's game against the Colts. David is the more impactful absence, both for the Tampa defense and IDP lineups. This was the expectation reported earlier this week, though. Rookie Sirvocea Dennis looks like the replacement. LB Devin White (foot) is also questionable for the game. he's expected to be a game-time decision, according to multiple reports. White played through the issue for 100% snap share last week despite following the same practice schedule he did this week: out, out, limited. We'll see about his status Sunday. CB Carlton Davis (hip) is also questionable. He missed Week 10 and then saw his playing time limited a bit (75%) last week but finished this week with a full Friday practice.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Buccaneers LB Lavonte David is "considered a long shot" to play against the Colts this week because of a groin injury. We have removed David from the Week 12 LB rankings and given LB Devin White a tackle boost. We'll have to watch White's status as well, as he missed Wednesday's practice with a foot issue. He started last week the same way, though, and wound up playing every snap. Expect rookie LB SirVocea Dennis to start in David's place.
Buccaneers LB Devin White (foot) is active for today's game against the 49ers. He's OK to use as planned in IDP lineups.
Buccaneers LB Devin White (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. He progressed from no practice Wednesday to a limited Thursday and then full Friday participation. That suggests White will be ready for Sunday's game. He has been a low-level IDP option this season, though.
Buccaneers CB Carlton Davis (toe) is inactive for today's game against the Titans. Fellow starting CB Jamel Dean, however, has cleared the concussion protocol and will play. D-linemen Calijah Kancey (quad) and Logan Hall (groin) are active after hitting the day questionable.
Both Buccaneers starting outside CBs are questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. HC Todd Bowles says Carlton Davis (toe) will be a game-time decision. Jamel Dean remains in the concussion protocol as of Saturday afternoon, though he progressed to a full Friday practice. We'll see about the status of both players heading into the game. Losing either would add upside to the Tennessee passing game. Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins already makes for a solid WR2 play across fantasy formats. Rookie QB Will Levis will be a boom/bust fantasy option in his third NFL start regardless of Tampa's specific defensive lineup. The CB injuries obviously add potential upside, though.
Buccaneers DT Vita Vea (foot) is active for today's game against the Falcons.
Buccaneers Edge Shaq Barrett (illness) is active for today's game against the Lions. He's a lower-level IDP option, though.
