Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Keaton Mitchell carried four times for 31 yards in Sunday's win over the Vikings, ranking second among Baltimore RBs in rushing work. Justice Hill followed with just one carry, producing a 1-yard TD in the middle of the third quarter. Derrick Henry, of course, dominated ground work with 20 rushes for 75 yards. Henry also led the backfield receiving against Minnesota, catching all three of his targets for 9 yards. Hill followed him in that area, running seven pass routes to Henry's 18 and catching one of two targets for 12 yards.
Ravens TE Mark Andrews caught the team's only TD pass in Sunday's win over the Vikings. That was one of his 3 receptions for a mere 14 yards among five targets on a difficult passing day for Baltimore. Andrews matched TE Isaiah Likely at five targets. Likely caught two of his for 17 yards.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson managed just 17-of-29 passing for 176 yards and 1 TD in Sunday's win over the Vikings. He added 36 yards on nine carries. Jackson also fumbled once, but the Ravens retained possession.
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Vikings, he told reporters afterward. Bateman said that he doesn't expect to miss much time, per ESPN's Kimberley Martin. But he was in a walking boot, and high-ankle sprains typically cost players multiple weeks. We'll look for further updates on Bateman's status. He's averaging just 3.4 targets and 1.8 catches per game, so there's not a huge fantasy impact here.
Ravens TE Mark Andrews was on the receiving end of the first two of QB Lamar Jackson's four TDs in Thursday night's win over the Dolphins. Andrews found a hole in Miami's defense in the back of the end zone to haul in a two-yard score on fourth-and-goal in the first quarter. Then he took advantage of two Miami defenders running into each other to work open for a 20-yard TD in the second quarter. Those were Andrews' only two catches of the night, with his third and final target falling incomplete in the second quarter.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson didn't do anything spectacular in his return vs. the Dolphins on Thursday night. But by the end of the contest, he'd racked up four passing scores. He found TE Mark Andrews in the back of the end zone on a fourth-and-goal in the first quarter and hit Andrews for another score from 20 yards out in the second quarter. Jackson tossed two more TDs -- to TE Charlie Kolar and WR Rashod Bateman -- in the third quarter to put the Ravens up 28 to 6. He threw just one pass in the fourth quarter with Baltimore nursing the big lead. The Ravens needed only 56 plays and 23 pass attempts in this one. Jackson ran five times for 14 yards.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) confirmed on Tuesday that he'll be back for Thursday night's game vs. the Dolphins. “I just started to feel good," Jackson said. "I’m ready to go now." There's some additional risk here in Jackson's first game in a little over a month, but he still checks in third in the Week 9 QB rankings. The Ravens are projected for a whopping 29 points in Miami.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh said Monday that he's "very confident" QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) will be able to play vs. the Dolphins on Thursday night. Jackson wound up being limited in practice all last week (although he was originally listed as a full participant on Friday). He'll be 32 days removed from his hamstring injury when Thursday night's game kicks off, and the team has seemingly been cautious bringing Jackson back. We'll keep you updated on his status over the next few days, but an active Jackson will be a must-start in fantasy lineups.
Derrick Henry rushed 21 times for 71 yards and 2 TDs to help lead the Baltimore Ravens to their second win of the season. The 19.1 PPR poitns that Henry scored on Sunday were his highest output since ran for 169 yards and 2 TDs in Week 1.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh said after Sunday's win over the Bears that he's "hopeful" to get QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) back for Thursday night's game vs. the Dolphins. We'll keep tabs on his progress over the next few days. QB Tyler Huntley played well enough to get the win today, completing 17 of 22 passes for 186 yards and a score and running for 53 yards. But Jackson's return will obviously be a huge boost for this offense.
The Baltimore Ravens have officially ruled QB Lamar Jackson out for the team's Week 8 game against the Chicago Bears. Jackson missed 2 games with a hamstring injury and had the bye week to recover. He returned to full practices but took the field with the scout team on Friday, which hinted at his status. Tyler Huntley will start for the Ravens on Sunday.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) is "trending in the right direction" for Sunday's game vs. the Bears, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Jackson is still "considered internally a game-time decision," Fowler adds. But the team "feels a lot better about Lamar's chances after Friday's practice. He was throwing dimes on the field. There was a relief." We'll keep you updated on Jackson's status between now and kickoff, but we continue to expect him to play vs. Chicago.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bears. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. We continue to expect Jackson to return for this game, but HC John Harbaugh was non-committal on Friday. Harbaugh also said that QB Tyler Huntley – not QB Cooper Rush – would start if Jackson can’t go. We’re sure to get more updates on Jackson between now and kickoff.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) remained limited in Thursday's practice. But OC Todd Monken said afterward that Jackson looked "really good." Monken added, “If he says he’s ready to go, I’m ready to go.” We continue to expect Jackson to play vs. the Bears this weekend, but we'll get another update on his status tomorrow.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Wednesday -- his first since going down back in Week 4. HC John Harbaugh said before the bye that he expected Jackson back for this weekend's game vs. the Bears, and he appears on track. We'll continue to keep you updated on Jackson's status, but he can be penciled into Week 8 fantasy lineups for now.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) did not participate in Monday's practice, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley. This was a bonus practice as the Ravens come out of their bye week, but it still would have been nice to see Jackson out there. We'll see if he takes the field for the first official practice of the week on Wednesday. We're tentatively projecting Jackson to play vs. the Bears this weekend, but that's certainly not a lock.
The Ravens get a (likely) welcomed bye in Week 7. After that, they expect to get LB Roquan Smith back. Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports that HC John Harbaugh said he expects Smith to play in Week 8. The LB missed the past two games after leaving the Week 4 loss at Kansas City early with his hamstring injury.
Ravens RB Derrick Henry bounced back with a 24-122-0 rushing line and even had a catch in the 17-3 loss to the Rams. The Ravens opted for two Tush Push plays at the one-yard line instead of just handing it off to Henry three times, leading to a missed TD opportunity from him on fourth down. Despite the solid rushing line, Henry only played 48.7% of snaps with the Ravens playing from behind all game.
Ravens WR Zay Flowers (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning that Flowers “will likely play less than his normal allotment of snaps.” That – plus the continued absence of QB Lamar Jackson – leaves Flowers as just a WR3 in the Week 6 rankings.
Ravens WR Zay Flowers (shoulder) is expected to play vs. the Rams today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. But "he won't be 100% and will likely play less than his normal allotment of snaps," Rapoport adds. ESPN's Adam Schefter also reports that Flowers is expected to play but makes no mention of limited snaps. We'll look for further updates on the situation. It's possible that Flowers takes some plays off in obvious running situations but registers a typical route rate. We're making a small adjustment to his Week 6 projections, but he remains safely inside WR3 territory.
