The 49ers promoted RB Kerryon Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster. He's now eligible to play against the Packers on Sunday night. Johnson joined the team 2 weeks ago. We'll see how big a role he plays in Week 3 -- if he plays at all. But he shouldn't be in fantasy lineups. San Francisco placed RB JaMycal Hasty (ankle) on IR in a corresponding roster move.
The 49ers signed RB Kerryon Johnson to the practice squad. Johnson was a 2nd-round pick just 3 years ago but hasn't been fantasy relevant since his rookie season. He averaged 3.6 and then 3.5 yards per carry for the Lions in 2019 and 2020 -- and was cut by the Eagles this summer. There's obviously opportunity in San Francisco after RB Raheem Mostert's season-ending knee injury, but we wouldn't bet on Johnson capitalizing on it. He's only worth stashing in deep fantasy leagues.
The Eagles waived RB Kerryon Johnson. The former Lion recently suffered a knee injury that's believed to be a sprain. For now, Philly will move forward with Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell and Jordan Howard behind Miles Sanders.
Eagles RB Kerryon Johnson is week to week with a knee injury, according to NBC Philly's Dave Zangaro. Johnson already seemed to be behind RB Jordan Howard on the depth chart -- and this injury might kill his chances of making the final roster. Johnson is off the fantasy radar right now.
