Carter leads backfield work; James Robinson 3rd

Michael Carter Headshot

Jets RB Michael Carter got the bulk of the backfield snaps in Sunday's loss to the Patriots, the 1st game since Breece Hall's ACL tear. He played 1 more snap than the combined total for Ty Johnson and James Robinson. The carry counts made it look closer. Carter's 7 rushes (for 26 yards) led the group, with Robinson taking 5 (for 17) and Johnson 2 (for 6). Carter dominated receiving opportunities, tying for 2nd on the team with 7 targets. he caught 4 for 35 yards. Johnson (2) and Robinson (1) combined for no receptions on 3 targets. We're betting on Carter as the touch leader going forward, even if Robinson works into more playing time. We'd also bet on the backfield continuing to be unexciting. Week 9 brings a terrible matchup for everything on offense, with Buffalo coming to town.
