Shark Bites

The Bills utilized 2-TE sets on only 38 snaps (3.7%) last season, per TruMedia. That number will rise following the addition of Round 1 TE Dalton Kincaid. As The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia writes, “[the Bills] made Kincaid a key to opening things up and being more unpredictable on offense.” Buscaglia also notes that Buffalo leaned into 2-TE sets a bit more down the stretch last season. Dawson Knox counts ~$6.5 million against Buffalo’s cap, so he’ll retain a role. We’ll watch for training camp clues on how frequently OC Ken Dorsey plans to utilize 12 personnel. (The Bills practice just down the road from Draft Sharks headquarters.) Kincaid’s ADP is currently TE13, with Knox at TE20. Check the TE rankings to see where both guys land.

Recent Shark Bites

Bills TE Dawson Knox returned Sunday after missing the previous five games following wrist surgery. His return didn't hurt TE Dalton Kincaid's playing time, though. Kincaid still ran a route on 87.8% of Josh Allen's dropbacks. His 8 targets ranked second on the team, and his 5 receptions tied for the Buffalo lead. Kincaid managed just 21 yards (4.2 per reception), but short targets have been a staple all season. We'll take that issue if it comes with strong reception volume. Sunday marked the seventh straight game of 5+ receptions for Kincaid.

Bills TE Dalton Kincaid has racked up 26 catches, 243 yards, and two TDs over his last four games. Those are all top-4 marks among TEs. Kincaid's 62.3 PPR points over that span rank third at the position behind only T.J. Hockenson and George Kittle. The rookie is getting elite usage, running a route on 88% of Bills pass plays and drawing 22.8% of the team's targets. We can only hope that Buffalo doesn't scale back his role whenever TE Dawson Knox is ready to return from his wrist injury. Knox is eligible to come off IR this week, but there's been no indication that he'll be ready. In the meantime, Kincaid is a weekly top-5 fantasy TE. He has an excellent Week 12 matchup vs. the Eagles' 23rd-ranked TE defense.

Bills TE Dalton Kincaid shined as the lone bright spot for Buffalo’s passing game in Week 10, hauling in 5 of 6 targets for 51 receiving yards and a TD vs. the Broncos. The rookie is now averaging 7 catches, 68 receiving yards, and 16.3 PPR points per game over the past four games. At this point, fantasy managers can consider Kincaid a weekly TE1 option regardless of matchup. To make matters better, the Bills’ remaining schedule ranks as the sixth-easiest for TEs per our adjusted fantasy points allowed.

Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots. The rookie has averaged 4.3 targets, 3.8 catches, and 25 yards in four full games this season.

Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (concussion) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday. That puts him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Patriots. The rookie has averaged 4.3 targets, 3.8 catches, and 25 yards in four full games this season.
