The Saints are firing HC Dennis Allen in the wake of Sunday's loss to the Panthers. That marked the seventh straight defeat after New Orleans opened the season with a pair of blowout victories. Allen spent roughly 2.5 seasons at the helm after seven as Saints defensive coordinator. He finishes with an 18-25 record ... which is at least better than his 8-28 across 2+ years as Raiders HC (2012-14).
It's not yet clear who will serve as interim HC in New Orleans, but it probably doesn't matter for fantasy outlooks.
First-year OC Klint Kubiak figures to continue running the offense, with second-year DC Joe Woods in charge on the other side. The Athletic's Dianna Russini mentioned special teams coach Darren Rizzi as a strong potential candidate for the interim HC post.
The Saints got QB Derek Carr back from injury for Week 9 but remain ravaged at WR, in the backfield, and on defense.
We'll see what else might change from here, but the coaching switch shouldn't mean much for the fantasy outlook of Alvin Kamara or Taysom Hill -- perhaps the only healthy, fantasy-relevant assets remaining on this team.
A 2-QB draft can wreck even the savviest fantasy players. Follow these proven strategies and draft like the best.
