Bears QB Caleb Williams has had a volatile fantasy season, but he capped it with a strong performance against the 49ers. Williams went 25/32 for 330 yards and 2 TDs. He also went 5-18-0 on the ground. With HC Ben Johnson returning along with a bevy of young weapons, the Bears offense could take a step forward WRs Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, and D.J. Moore along with TE Colston Loveland could create an elite unit for Williams to throw to.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Williams finished half of his games (8 of 16) with a top-10 QB finish, including two QB1 overall performances in Weeks 3 and 9. Those types of performances scream top-5 upside for Williams in 2026.
On the downside, Williams had 7 games outside of the top-15 QBs for the week. This includes three games with no passing TDs. Williams’ wide range of outcomes made him a difficult start throughout the season and also shows potential downside next year.
Williams rushing under Johnson has been the biggest step forward in terms of his fantasy output. He scored 3 rushing TDs this season and also had three games over 50 yards rushing. If Williams continues his rushing output, it gives him a leg up over passing-only QBs.
Williams surely will be behind Josh Allen, Drake Maye, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, and probably Patrick Mahomes in 2026. But his ADP could settle around QB7 or QB8 in early drafts next year. The upside of the offense taking a step forward makes it attractive, but the downside if Williams volatility leading to poor overall output.
