The Commanders' offense will look different in 2026 under new OC David Blough, HC Dan Campbell said. One change will be getting QB Jayden Daniels under center more often. Washington ran a league-low 192 plays from under center over the past two seasons, according to ESPN's John Keim. Only 18 of Daniels' 668 NFL pass attempts (2.7%) have come from under center.
What They're Saying
Quinn on Washington's offense: "We're going to try to feature every part of Jayden in the way that makes him unique and special. ... Jayden's a big part of our thinking in all the things we do. He wasn't a part of the staff selection, but he drives a lot of the thinking and how we can feature him and where it goes. Having the ability to connect with him, that's certainly a big deal for us."
Fantasy Football Impact
It's tough to say what more under center snaps will mean for Daniels since he's done so little of it. Even at LSU, he operated a shotgun-heavy spread offense.
More diversification is generally good for an offense, though. And it sounds like the Commanders are focused on tailoring their attack to what Daniels does best.
We'll keep a close eye on this offense throughout the offseason. But health remains the biggest factor for Daniels' fantasy value. He made it through just four full games last year, scoring as the QB7 in fantasy in those outings. That followed a QB6 finish in points per game in 2024.
A healthy Daniels is a strong bet for top-eight production in 2026, with upside into the top five.
He's not coming at much of a discount in early best-ball drafts, though, with an ADP in early Round 6 as the fourth QB off the board.
