New Seahawks OC Brian Fleury was asked about his offense on Wednesday and said it'll look “very similar to the one that just won the Super Bowl.” Fleury worked with former Seahawks OC and new Raiders HC Klint Kubiak for one year in San Francisco under HC Kyle Shanahan. "Both of us were more influenced by Kyle than anything else," Fleury said of his relationship with Kubiak. "Klint's a good friend and a great football coach. Right away we bonded over similar views of football. How we see the game, what we think is important."
What They're Saying
HC Mike Macdonald on hiring Fleury: "I knew about Brian. I knew he was a great coach. And then we had an opportunity to talk to him, and he just did a phenomenal job. I think his vision and what he believes in offensively was aligned with how we wanna be. ... A lot of alignment and it gave us an opportunity to have some great continuity."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
It's no surprise that the Seahawks want to try to replicate the offense that led them to a Super Bowl last year. Expect the attack to remain run-leaning with an emphasis on play-action passing. (QB Sam Darnold ranked 12th in percentage of drop backs using play-action last year.)
The question is whether the offense can remain as efficient under Fleury. Last year's Seahawks finished fourth in yards per play and second in yards per pass attempt (although just 24th in yards per carry).
Some regression from those heights is likely. Exactly how much will determine whether Seahawks pieces return value in 2026 fantasy drafts.
