Chris Olave Headshot

The Saints on Thursday agreed to a four-year, $132 million extension with WR Chris Olave, according to Jayna Bardahl and Jeff Howe of The Athletic. The pact will pay $90 million in guaranteed money and ranks sixth among WRs in annual average ($33 million). Olave had stayed off the field to open training camp while working out this extension.

The contract doesn't change Olave's outlook for 2026, other than returning him to the field more than a month ahead of Week 1.

There was some uncertainty over whether New Orleans would pay up for the 26-year-old receiver, though, given his concussion history.

Olave sustained two concussions in 2024, one in 2023, one in 2022, and one in 2020 while still at Ohio State. The Saints being willing to give this contract says they're not overly worried about his long-term outlook.

Olave sits tied for 12th among WRs in our PPR rankings for the coming season, but he does carry "very high" injury risk according to our Injury Predictor.

That obviously doesn't mean you can't draft, but be aware of the risk if you do.
