Chiefs WR Rashee Rice has been leaving training camp practice early each day for knee rehab, according to Ron Kopp Jr. of Arrowhead Pride. Rice had knee surgery in May, followed by a 30-day jail sentence for violating probation. Kopp also relayed a video of Rice running a post (against no defenders) and it looked…less than stellar. Rice’s slow foot speed and lumbering movement wouldn’t beat any NFL CB in man coverage. He is clearly still recovering from his injury and surgery.
What They're Saying: The Knee Still Limits Him
Ron Kopp Jr., Arrowhead Pride: “For context (that Chiefs fans following camp should know): Rice has been leaving practice early each day for planned rehabilitation. Clearly not 100% recovered from the May knee surgery.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: WR9 Holds For Now
We currently have Rice ranked as WR9 in our PPR WR rankings, expecting him to make a full recovery before training camp (and avoid any type of discipline from the probation violation).
He'll stay in that range unless we get news of a setback or signs the injury could linger into the regular season.
The video certainly doesn't show a player ready for an NFL game, but there's still more than a month before the season starts.
We'll keep monitoring Rice in training camp and move him down the rankings if the injury becomes a bigger concern.
