Keon Coleman was diagnosed with a sprained toe after suffering the injury in the preseason opener, according to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe. The injury has Coleman in a walking boot and will cost him practice time, but Bills head coach Joe Brady didn’t sound overly concerned.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Walking Boot, Not Panic
It was well documented that Coleman fell short of expectations last season, producing just 7.7 PPR fantasy points per game while commanding only a 15.6% target share. His fantasy production actually decreased from the 8.4 PPG he posted as a rookie.
He became one of just 27 wide receivers drafted in the first two rounds since 2006 to post less than 10.0 PPG as a rookie and have their second-year production decrease.
Of the 26 before him, just five went on to average at least 12.0 PPG in their third season.
That history helps explain the muted hype around Coleman entering his third season, even with reports of a strong spring and summer as he tries to bounce back.
The bounce-back possibility remains on schedule to begin in Week 1, but Coleman will miss some time to heal from his sprained toe.
