Just five days after it was announced that Tyler Warren is expected to miss about a week with a groin injury, Colts beat reporter Mike Chappell says the team might hold him out of practice this week. The injury appears to have lingered longer than previously hoped, but Warren should still be ready for opening day against the Ravens in a few weeks.

Warren is one of the focal points of this offense heading into his second season. Despite being a rookie last year, his 20.5% target share ranked fourth highest among all tight ends.
He also joined Brock Bowers as the only rookie tight ends to reach both a 20.0% target share and 1.40 yards per team pass attempt.
The Colts extended Alec Pierce and swapped out Michael Pittman Jr for Keenan Allen this offseason, and those moves largely left the door wide open for Warren to make a sizable second-year leap.
