Chase Brown Headshot

Bengals RB Chase Brown finished with only 10 yards on 9 carries in Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars. Cincinnati largely abandoned the run, instead asking Joe Burrow to attempt 54 passes. That allowed Brown to save his PPR day with 11 catches (on 11 targets) for 71 yards.

The Jags entered allowing just 57.6 rushing yards per game. They slotted fourth in run defense DVOA.

So while Brown was never likely to deliver a big rushing day, Sunday’s result landed at the extreme low end of expectations. It’s his second-lowest rushing output since the beginning of the 2024 season. And it didn’t matter how his runs were executed. Per beat writer Joe Goodberry, Brown rushed for 3 yards on 7 under-center attempts. He carried twice for 7 yards in shotgun attempts.

Through four games, Brown now owns just 3.6 yards per carry, noticeably down from his mark of 4.4 in 2025. If there’s a bright spot, it’s that Brown’s usage remained encouraging with a 79% snap share, a 69% carry share, and a 21% target share.

He’ll be a rebound candidate ahead of a road matchup with Miami in Week 5. The Dolphins have allowed opposing lead backs to reach at least 17 PPR points in all four games.
